Hi Dave n Kathy, Canada sure does have a ton of lakes. I think I read that Canada has more lakes than the world put together or the most lakes in the world or something like that anyway. Looks a very hermit friendly road, well more a dirt track, but a hermit wouldn't leave any trash. There was a lot of trash there. Always take the trash with you and dispose of properly. Reindeer Lake looks huge. Another one of the tons of lakes 🙂👍Paul

2:59 all that trash. People are such pigs. No cell service. That is something we are planning for when we finally get to adventure like this. I am amature radio operator and planning on installing some radios in the RV and car. Those car navigation systems seem to want addresses to work half the time.

Hey there Dave and Kathy They say butterflies are messages from heaven. Since my good friend and my dad passed away a brown and a blue butterfly appears everywhere. It’s a shame indeed people are leaving their litter. What’s wrong with some people! Be scary to break down without cell service.. It’s good your brother has the satellite navigation when you’re able to use it. I’m hopeless with maps 😅 Rainbow lake looks and sounds glorious.. Kathy looks lovely today in yellow.. You'll need to pack yourself some snow and ice if you want to continue your journey up in that part of northern Manitoba! Gotta love these adventures though and always enjoy Ontario!! Keep safe and continue the amazing adventure!

why why why with the littering? do you remember the anti-litter slogan "don't mess with texas?" from the 80s? (not whatever grossness it has warped into). i was born in austin and this was a very formative thing for me as a child. litter breaks my heart. chicago has a big problem with it. do people kayak reindeer lake? it looks awesome. other than the van that had been in the accident and all the litter (and kathy wearing a packers shirt!!! 😤 go bears!!! 🤣) , this was such a lovely trip. sending my best to you both. happy 4th! 🛴❤

Yikes, that poor other driver. Yeah, one would definitely want to stay alert while on that road, especially with the gravel. Loved the butterfly and Kathy's comment sums it up perfectly. There were definitely a lot of warnings for travelers. Glad you were able to make it to Reindeer Lake, and sometimes good ol' paper maps are good to have around. Horrible to see people dumping their rubbish, especially when the area is so scenic! Good lesson to teach people about driving to remote areas, paper maps generally are safer! So many foreign tourists get into major trouble in the remote parts of Australia because they think they will be able to have internet and use Google maps! People who work in those areas have satellite phones, regular phones don't work at all, plus for really remote roads you can't even travel on them unless you report to the local police first and they check that you will have enough fuel, you need to carry your own.

I love those roads that nobody else is on! This is beautiful, but really sad to see the trash that was left behind. That just annoys me. If you pack it in, you need to pack it out! Little eerie to see that van just sitting there abandoned like that. Man I hate when people leave their trash behind. So annoying! Civilization with no people? I see several of those roads are closed in the winter. I suppose that's pretty common in Canada. That lake is gorgeous! Oh wow. You really did go to the end of the road. That just seems crazy to me that there are no more roads. Not something I'm used to. Maybe one day we'll get to visit Canada.

Wow, that was a pretty remote area you were in. An area I have never seen. Cell service can be fairly sporadic up there at best, but beautiful area to see.

Absolutely stunning vast place. Love that it’s just a quiet. That car that had gone off the road is crazy. As you say, you’d really need to be aware of the roads especially when so far from help 👍

Dead end roads often turn into dumping spots. Hope the people in that abandoned car made it out ok. Frustrating that navigating backroads is so challenging with GPS. Looks like Reindeer Lake is beautiful!
