The Star Spangled Banner was originally meant to be sung in a Minor Key. The music comes from a hauntingly beautiful ancient funeral dirge for men fallen in battle who will never be buried by those who love them. The reference to the "star spangled banner" was originally a reference to the night sky full of stars being the only banner that will now fly over their bodies lying on the battle field. I know the song supposedly comes from a drinking song, but I heard back in college that the music was changed from a minor to a major key so marching bands could play it more easily. When sung in minor key, it's clear the Star Spangled Banner is actually a haunting lament.

The cover song that Venom Let There Be Carnage should have used for the trailers if the film were darker. I can clearly see an epic trailer linking this lyric to Carnage. Amazing Job!!

This is my new dark favorite. Eeeeeeeeeeeesh. Man I can see the movie scene that would have this in it and I'm not sure it could play on anything but an NC-17 screen. On and unrelated note, Joo just gotta go find Epic the Musical and grab some of its peppier songs (the Musical is mostly a tragedy but still) and drill some of them into minor key monstrosities :).
