Wondering what the story line is behind this song. Did the little girl's mom die?? Such a touching song. Is that John's son that walks in at the end and plays guitar??

It's interesting how "straight laced" Prine's family is when you realize Prine was such a huge influence on hippy's back in the day. A Guy and Susanna lifestyle he did not live
@jsigur157Күн бұрын
Clearly Prine's first two albums were easily his best material. It's as if he wrote from a "Godhead" point of view, his songs made me think of humanity more than an individual, It's hard to explain but something started changing in late 70's and early 80's and I believe they lost a step but then the other thing was why fame didn't really come to Prine until his health went down hill and affected his showmanship. I remember thinking in the early 70's that he was sure gonna be a huge star. I'm sure there is something about all that that I just don't understand....

I was lucky enough to grow up in Chicago in the 60's and 70's and see John, Steve Goodman, Bob Gibson, Cryan Shames, New Colony Six, Chicago, Buckinghams, Shadows of Knight, and the Ides of March. I feel so lucky now.
