I've been wondering for years if I'd ever see you shredding at Breck. Today I saw this guy out ahead of me on Peak 9 with the smoothest carves I have ever witnessed. It just looked unreal, and I thought, "geeze someone out here is mimicking Ryan's technique." I quickly realized it was you in your standard blue and Grey colors. I tried to carve over your lines and simply became more impressed. Bro, your skills are even better witnessed in person. I would have given you a high five at Beaver Run but I had a slower friend from out of town that I didn't want to ditch. Keep shredding my man.

Hey Ryan! I would love to see some videos that truly emphasize how much your specific board helps you by demonstrating other boards the same way you ride your twin. Essentially do a video or multiple videos riding the other types of snowboard cambers, shapes, flexibility and sidecuts while attempting your laid out carves the way you normally ride and describe how a small side cut, lighter weight, rocker profile, or directional snowboard can affect your carving. Just an idea, but I think it would really help show the community the difference between them. I’ve tried to watch videos on the matter on KZbin, but no one explains as well as you do, let alone rides as well as you do. I’d be extremely interested in seeing this from you brother and think a lot of others will be too.

Big +1 For the One X2! My old GoPros (Hero 3 Black and earlier) were frustrating to use for one reason or another. The footage was also underwhelming and often went unused. Since I got the One X2 my footage looks sooo much better and is effortless to shoot. Being able to re-frame multiple times from a single take is a total game changer. I'm sure GoPros are similar now too but I love the form factor of the One X2 (and now X3).

Hi Ryan! What a fantastic resource you are. I'm coming back into the sport after a break since the winter of 98' (yes, 1998). I'll be 61 by the time the 2023 season gets underway. My first board was a Sims Switchblade, with plate bindings. Back then it was all about the CARVE!! Fast, full body extension and laying very low to the ground (backside or front side, just get low). It was the only thing that reminded me of windsurfing in the summer. Here is my question to you or anyone else that may have experienced this issue. I just got my INSTA360 X2. Also the same shorter selfie stick that you have. When I switch my hand with the selfie stick it appears that the sound goes right up the handle into the camera and is recorded. I've tried a foam pipe sleeve, a rubber grommet to NO avail. Still get the sound of my gloved hand switching. Now I'm waiting on a carbon fiber unit to see if that stops the noise. Any feedback would be great! Best regards, David

That drone shot looks awesome. Really great to see how you ride across the slope rather than just the up close shots we've seen previously. Doesn't the long stick affect your riding? I got a cheap action camera just to play around with and to film myself so I can watch where I make mistakes, but I'm so conscious of the camera that my riding is worse with it. I've been thinking about a 360 camera so that I don't have to worry about where the camera is pointed and I can just focus on my riding. But the price doesn't justify my intended purpose just yet :)
@RyanKnapton2 жыл бұрын
I like you're approach of working on your riding first and foremost. :) The extended selfie stick limits the tricks I'd do with it, but for my normal turns it works good. And yup, the 360 cam is great for not having to worry about how you frame up the shot while riding. In the past I've had tons of clips where my board wasn't in the shot making it unusable. Problem solved. :)
@choyMM2 жыл бұрын
@@RyanKnapton I've been struggling with heel side turns for ages and I know I tend to get misaligned on the turn. Having a camera shows me exactly what I'm doing. I thought my only problem was my rear shoulder but what I saw on video was that I had my lead shoulder forwards as well on a heel turn. A better camera like yours will probably reveal more issues I don't notice myself.

I see even the footage from my phone isn't as crisp as the original, so hopefully I'll figure it out fully. I see I used the wrong frame rate for the project settings. @RyanKnapton2 жыл бұрын
I ride pretty damn wide at 23.75 inches. Every season I try both wider and narrower in the same day. Narrow can help apply pressure to the middle of the board. Wider feels like stability to me with buttering and freestyle stuff. Definitely worth playing around with so that you have confidence in your own stance with choices for how you want your riding to feel along with your own objectives of what you want to achieve on the snow. 😃❄️🏂❄️✌️
