Hey the tech is great but my main reason for wanting a camera would be safety. I run with the varia which has been wonderful getting a heads for passing cars on tight roads. Can’t help to think they should be working out a mounting system that lets me see what’s coming and record possible interaction/accidents etc… I’m thinking hardwire base to quad lock and rear in place of varia both sharing power from di2 battery…tech is so close
@ChinaCycling22 сағат бұрын
I see some third party small mounts with USB-c ports so you can constantly power it... Then use the dashcam / pre-record mode... But maybe the varia is more suited

Best camera bla bla bla skip skip skip, who’s it for… aaah ok interesting. This for the racer, ok that’s me. But what I’m missing in your review, what I find the most important thing in an action camera is the FEEDBACK through buttons, sound and led’s to know if you’re recording, stopping or starting to record etc. I’m missing that part in your review. Who cares about the quality if you think it’s rolling but it’s not….. that’s the only thing that matters, to GET THE SHOT. Also, 38min battery life ain’t gonna cut it. Even for a crit. Here in Holland they are 1,5-2hours long. Capturing how yhe race plays out requires more video time. Ok so use the battery pack, but it’s not water proof, so that rules out many races or weather scenarios. Will it bump out of the case on a bumpy road? Need more info bro 😎

All valid points! IMHO as soon as it rains, you can't get footage anyway, bc the lens will just be wet and blurry, so that's a non-issue. Although I (wrongly) didn't address it in the video, I can tell you... the camera vibrates and beeps, so if its on your helmet, etc, you'll defo feel the vibrate. The beeping should be louder though (the same for all cameras)
@jasperverkuijl12 сағат бұрын
@@ChinaCyclingok good to know. I’ll test it myself to confirm 😉 About the rain statement, I 💯 disagree. If you are shooting a race, it will continue when it rains or not dude. A race in the rain is still worth recording. The content will still be awesome, with water on the lens or not. I’ve made videos of races in the rain before. Obviously there is water on the lens! That’s the difference between someone that “rides to make content” or someone that really shows what happens, even if it rains. (What if it’s a dry Mtb race but you go through a puddle or river…. Camera destroyed. ) For me it’s a no go for capturing races….. but I might be a very specific example

Until they allow an external mic this camera can be very frustrating for cycling use due to wind noise. I’ve lost so many clips due to this and am hoping that the go4 addresses the issue

Life gets in the way. I shot this video way back in May, but never got round to finishing the edit. Oops. This is my fav camera for bike races. I can put it on our team's bikes and they don't get mad about weight or aero drag, then I can set the timer to catch the parts of the race I want. Love it.
