I am the proud owner of a 2006 LX with 248k miles. We take it up mountain trails in the G Wash. Natl Forest often and it’s the go to for long travels. Those seats are so comfy

I basically have a 2018 LCI version of this car, sans the manual seats, i got electric ones but it was a similar package of the upgrades, cept i had to pay more, but it was a discount compared to if I added those things myself, also got a dinan tune from the dealer too

And it wasn't even built by Mercedes. A company named Magna Steyr manufactured the G-Wagon the entire time, and they were sold by Mercedes. Isn't that neat?

I have a 1600-4doors even less production than the 1600 coupe.
@slam442 жыл бұрын
I believe that the 1600 was the only original offering. The 02 was the baby in the lineup with the sedan getter the 1.8 or 2 liter M10. The 1.6 or 1.8 liter was the only 02 option from 1966 until 1968. In 1968 the 2 liter was added and the 1.8 in 1971. Initially the 2002 with carburetor was available everywhere except in Europe where only the 2002Ti was available with either the 4 or 5 speed manual.
@PK-yu2iy2 жыл бұрын
Initially the 2002 with single carburettor and 100 bhp was also available in Europe from 1968 untill 1975 (my dad had 2 of them), until 1971 there also was a performance version called 2002 ti that had a double carburettor and 120 bhp. This version was replaced in '71 by the 2002 tii with Kugelfischer fuel injection and 130 bhp. Finally, in 1973 the 2002 Turbo with 170 bhp and KKK turbocharger was launched, just in time for the petroleum crisis..

This settles it for me, man. I just bought a hardtop after i spent $1200 ish on a new soft top with installation a year ago. You're right, the advantages of the soft top way outweigh the soft top. I always told myself that the only advantage to a soft top is the ability to flip the top down at a moments notice...but honestly whats a few minutes of uninstalling the hardtop then putting it back on? I'll sell my year old mint canvas top top make some money back from the purchase of the hardtop.

You were very pleased with the torque and speed of the 235, but didn't compare that with the 135. How does the 135 compare in those respects? I'm in between buying a 135i or m235i. This video made me want the m235i just for the torque fun

I own a almost stock s2000 and a lotus with 300bhp. I have owned a NB turbo. Recently i testdrove the ND and this guy explains it perfectly. The ND is almost up to par with the s2000. They are not the same but it causes the driver to be engaged while driving. The s2k does this with an engine that you need to rev to the moon and you need to keep its momentum. The ND does this by being super light and have some good lower end torque and quite some body roll. The ND for me creates a new Era where style, comfort and sportiness all go hand in hand and brings great value for money. Seriously thinking of selling the s2000 and buying one. But must be honest and probably will fit it with a bbr turbo kit and some suspension upgrades.

This model has launch control to get the best take off! To activate it place the shift lever into shift position & select Sport+. Hold your left foot in the brake & push the accelerator pedal down past the resistance point. A checkered flag will display in the bottom of the gauge cluster indicating that launch is active. Take your foot off the brake while pushing the accelerator all the way down & the car will take off like a rocket with no loss of traction! Unlike the Porsche PDK that you can launch over & over again, the BMW transmission has to cool down between launches but it's still there & a great feature to have. I drive my 640i M-Sport Gran Coupe back & forth to work 25 miles each way mostly in comfort mode & I find the steering to be really good. Sport mode is better since it tightens up & is more direct. I have a 987 Porsche Boxster S that has exceptional steering & control but for the size of the 6 with all of it's electronics it still handles great and is a pretty amazing car!

Hey man! Great video. Just for future reference, in 2017, this specific M Performance Edition was 10k over base MSRP of a standard M2. They were originally 62k, which included about $7500 for the M Performance goodies (exhaust, suspension etc) and $2500 for the M Drivers Package which was mandatory hence the increased top speed. Hope that helps and hope you enjoyed. Possibly picking one up tomorrow.
