Is the volume level loud and clear because your head unit radio has at least 4-volt pre-out on the RCA jacks?
@brettr12244 ай бұрын
It may have helped, but the Bose amplifier is very inconsistent with how it handles un-balanced audio as an input. Save the headache of a potential failed install and just get the ROEM-NIS2 linked in the description if you are going to keep the Bose amplifier. Even better if you get a new amplifier instead, because Bose sucks.

Can you simply cut a bigger hole opening for double din unit, will it attach to the cage etc allgood?
@Wrathernaut2 жыл бұрын
The climate controls are combined with the radio controls, so you'd still need the Japanese climate control board. It is possible to cut a big hole in it for the radio. The factory radio cage/bracket does connect well to most aftermarket radios, but in order to get it flush with the trim, you'll probably have to drill new holes in the factory radio cage.

So as for an 03 and a roem nis2, what would the radio have to have or can I just use any? Like 4rca, 4preamps? Or? Cause this metra harness isn't good and you seem to know alot about the PAC .
@Wrathernaut4 жыл бұрын
The ROEM works best when connected to the speaker-level outputs in our cars. I do recommend attaching RCA cables long enough to reach trunk to the back of the new radio, and tucking those cables into the void under center console so that if you do add an aftermarket amplifier, you don't have to remove the radio again. Especially in the 03/04s - you risk damaging the clock trim, which is extremely brittle from the sun.

I’m working on a similar project on my G but I can’t figure out why the screen doesn’t go up or down on its own?
@Wrathernaut4 жыл бұрын
In this year (2005) the screen has its own power connector, which is independent of the radio or navigation system, so if it's not working right, you may have damaged something or left it unplugged. If the screen is up when the car is turned off, it should come back up once the car is turned back on.
@emmanuelaugustin47524 жыл бұрын
So the previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo system, and I’m not entirely sure on what he did but I think he did something to the connection of the Navi. Where is the Navi supposed to be connected to, foe example is it connected to the car’s battery or is it supposed to be connected to the DVD player?

Had to use this harness today for my new install in my g35. i got it to work exactly as you have it, but could turn my stereo up all the way; it was decent but not loud. I then spliced them all into the head units wiring instead of rca's and the difference was amazing. Stereo is booming at 30% volume; will need a bigger ground and to maybe separate the amp ground from the head unit to clear up any low volume static.

i installed my new head unit in a 2003 g35 with bose and ive got sound out of all 4 speakers rear and front but no base from the sub. How do ii get the sub working.

Wrathernaut was the sub working when you used the 70-7551 harness? maybe ive got something messed up.
@Wrathernaut7 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the bose systems are extremely inconsistent, so even with the 70-7551 harness, there's several significant issues that occur randomly. That's why the entire description of this video is telling you not to use the 70-7551.

Glad it worked for you, it's a shame that Bose made them so inconsistent that this doesn't work for everyone, which is why I don't recommend trying unless you get the harness for free. The ROEM-NIS2 has a near-perfect record, and should be the primary method for this kind of install.
@brianbreezyproductions8 жыл бұрын
Hey Wrathernaut! Thank you for enlightening us all with your videos. They have been a huge help for me getting my double din into my g35. I wanted to ask you about the metra axxess interface for the steering wheel. Did you have any errors as far as mapping the buttons? I've managed to get it connected but the buttons don't do what they are supposed to do. Even remapping doesn't help. Have you ran into this?
@Wrathernaut8 жыл бұрын
I had no issues with the default mapping on a pioneer NEX series unit last time I used one, at least not once I figured out just how long (very) you need to hold the volume button. If it is issuing commands to the unit, but not the ones you want, the best way to handle it is to download the axxess app and reprogram it with a USB OTG cable. It's much simpler than reprogramming the axxess directly.

do you know if I can piggy back off my oem harness while it's still plugged into my factory radio so I don't lose my climate controls im saving up for a double din and have the dreaded no sound from radio
@brettr12248 жыл бұрын
You'll be drawing more power than the system is designed for, but if you get power to the new radio, and cut and splice into the factory audio signal wires, it'll work, but you'll need to get creative in temporary placement of the new radio while the factory radio is installed.
@brandohines10118 жыл бұрын

hey great video. did you have to wire resistors to the adapter? from what I read you have to? please help thank you
@Wrathernaut8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it needs resistors; one on each of the signal wires in this car, but since this adapter and the superior ASWC-1 are so similar in price, I don't recommend using it anymore. The ASWC-1 does not need the resistors.
