Hi Stephen your Cyanotype process is wonderful, I have a question for you, how do you turn cyanotype liquids into foam? Generally it is in the form of liquids to be spread with a brush. I thank you so much in advance for your time!

Beautifull result! I didnt understand the soap step, did you mix soap + vinegar before you spread in the sheet?

Your paper is too small, best leave a wide (white) border around the print, which is more pleasing to the eye. Also narrow borders make framing difficult.

Really nice tonality. I saw another video of someone bleaching their print in sodium carbonate (until the image is just present, toning, then using a bath of straight white vinegar. The final result was quite good, but your use of an orange mask seems to produce very pleasing results. Btw, the vinegar bath gave a much needed increase in the darkest areas (for their print). It would be interesting to see what would happen with your prints using this

Hello Stephen, Canson Montval paper is 100% cellulose ! Have you tested with 300g 100% cotton paper ? If so, what is your preference and why ?

Thanks for the great video. I'm curious, can you tell me why you don't bleach the finished cyanotype separately and just use the tea bags for toning?

How long have you been waxing your cyanotypes. Have you noticed any fading? If so how long do they stay fresh? Do they revive when place in the dark? Great video for showing a method of wet cyanotypes and layering.

Hi Stephen, just wondering if you did not give the peroxide bath, over the next 24 hours would they automatically darken into that blue or could I keep them just as they are? I think they’re beautiful both ways, but I love the different colors besides the blue. Thank you for teaching us! Your work and gentle instruction are wonderful.
@roachbasher
@roachbasher 6 ай бұрын
Yes it would darken as it oxyidised over the next 24 hrs . The peroxide just speeds up the process. If you like it lighter you could do a bleach ,you have to be careful doing this or you can ruin the work .

You didn’t show what type of frame you used. Is it some kind of box frame so the glass doesn’t squash the soap bubbles and cling film?
@roachbasher
@roachbasher 9 ай бұрын
No it’s just a piece of glass and wood with bull clips to keep the glass pressed to the paper .
