Cool! TEAC\Tascam in the 70's and 80'S sold more audio recording equipment than any other company in the world. They made everything from home, semi-pro and professional equipment.

Rhett, first of all I want to thank you for your carefully produced videos... I'm sure you've looked at many fuzz pedals and put them on your own pedalboard, but I'd still like to ask. Do you recommend the Beetronics Abelha Fuzz?

9:25 @Rhett Shull Two you can go direct into Pro Tools without going through the summing section. If you hit the USB out Post Fader button by the fader for each channel that sends it directly to the AD converters from the bottom of the fader without routing it any further. This is what you were talking about yes? Edit. for the people saying Use the Inserts as the direct out, use the USB out Post fader Button because you can then keep the inserts hooked up. you can also send the channel with Insert, EQ and Compression on it to the DAW, OR you can turn them all off and just send the dry clean signal with no processing. You can also use BUS B for this option and have BUS B to record individual channels as you select them.

my chroma is in the mail and ive never been more excited for a pedal. even more, ive never found a pedal- its ethos and philosophy and approach- would ever strike me as so inherently interesting. i could write an essay on it and i havent played it yet. im wondering how youve felt the live/live jamming and midi implementation has been going for you. in other words, the functional usability and interaction with the rest of the board. i did watch this whole video and my setup is a bit like yours. i imagine that ill use it independently a lot of the time and i'll always have a reverb behind it to catch everything if i need. anyway im just hoping that midi recall has been smooth! happy new year to you, rhett! appreciate you as a creator, an artist, and a human person. - a pal youve never met.

I can't even imagine the time it took to MIDI map everything here (I'm fairly new to the MIDI thing, and it's absolutely mind melting stuff when you get into it--and I only have three pedals that I'm currently using MIDI with).

This was so fun, like a deep dive in your brain! ❤ Let me ask you this, as I also record a lot of different sounds with different amps and pedals on a loop switcher pedal board (though non-MIDI): How do you document the sounds and keep track of them so you know which songs utilize any specific sound? Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Rhett if you could only have one would you rather the Mood or the Dark World?
@AlecBourneMidiMadScientistАй бұрын
Damn, that was intense! Reached the end. This has been highlighted in the Line6 MIDI mad Scientist club. The old blood noise pedal used a triple tracking device answers one of my main questions, it’d be nice if you cover this in more detail in a later video. The other thing I note is that you demo this up on a table with access to those pedals under the riser. In studio I could see doing that all the time, I’d want those pedals at hands reach to mess with stuff and do programming, what about a wireless satellite board with midi controller or on board flic2 buttons to drive the RJM remotely? Free you of being stuck by the board. This bending to the floor to fudge with the MOOD seems incredibly impractical and it looks like you’d be using that very frequently?

Hello Rhett! Thank you for an amazing pedalboard walkthrough! One question though... where does your chroma console sit in the chain? i mean, i understand you have a switcher, and probably you put it in different place depending and what you wanna use. But where does is sit most of the time? I am kinda breaking my head here on where to put it, as it has so many "buckets" of effects. (they should have created an internal loop on it tbh hahaha)

Just fyi for squeaky stuff wd40 isnt necessarily a solution just a quick temporary fix. I think you’d need a silicone lubricant. Which wd40, the company not the product, actually make.

1 question - with midi - are u also able to control the knob settings of different pedals like we can do with helix snapshots ? or it just turns on and off certain pedals. all your pedals would have to support midi for that right ?

Amazing board @RhettShull, both videos were a true pleasure to watch, thank you. This deep dive really shows how powerful a board like this can be, and I don't think we can nerd too much about it. Next step is to get you and the guys from @xacttone on the Chairmen of the Board's podcast and go all out with Mason, Brian and Grant. We definitely need a full signal flow diagram of some sort. I don't know the RJM very well, but it looks like it has 6 loops + one insert that you can use as a regular loop, right? But you mentioned in the video that the zio boost is also in a loop...So fuzz, argo, MkII, rat, beam, chroma, boost = 7. Where is the additional 8th loop for the effect loop/extra pedal/amp in a box? Also who's last in the chain? The boss re-202? (so your delay after reverb). After the switcher : Duophony (with synesthesia/dark world) > hx one > RE-202 > mood? Sorry I can't stop nerding out, I'm deep into a build and I'm obsessing over signal flow! Thanks again Rhett, great content !

Very cool. I wouldn't even know what to do with half of it. The sounds you come up with remind me of so many great records, Where I'm at in my guitar journey is still deciding on one type of effect, pedals in a row, turn some knobs. Just standard stuff, your board looks like something I'd see on that pedals show! Would love to see you on that pedal show if the schedules coss paths in the future.

I like the EP! It is quite rewarding programming sounds for your original music. I run a simpler setup with a morningstar midi switscher and a boss GT-1000 core plus an expression pedal with some analog pedals added. Still, the MIDI ability really frees you up to actually perform rather than tap dancing :)

You should get the VFE Klein Bottle V2 instead of the duopoly. All analog, three-channel mixer. You can apply low or high pass filters on each channel. You can feed any channel into the other two on a mix to get feedback or keep all channels separate. It’s an amazing pedal for this type of stuff you are doing.

Do not use WD40 to fix the squeak. Use 3-in-1 oil instead. One drop per hinge. WD40 is a solvent. You need lube. Great video!
