DC, for me, closer to the office, property value increases at a higher rate, and a grant that makes my kids pay the equivalent of in state tuition no matter what school they attend. I was able to get a sizeable home with a yard and off-street parking for a great price in 2018.

$600k for this is without a parking space or garage not worth it imo. The design although modern-ish gives me nothing. I love open spaces and the corridors will bother me greatly.😢

For that 1st bedroom in that second single family home you showed, I would be more concerned with a younger child climbing over that balcony than I would about a teenager sneaking out. I would make sure that balcony door is childproofed. If the teenager thinks they’re slick enough to jump off that balcony and sneak out w/o hurting themselves in the process, I’d love to see the surprised look on their face when they find me sitting in the room waiting for them. I don’t have to worry about that now but I was very much an alert younger parent. But there’s always secrets that your kid doesn’t tell you until years later…..lol

As a native Washingtonian who now lives in Maryland, I appreciate the house tours especially the information about the neighborhoods. A lot of folks think DC is just the White Hous and ghettos. DC has officially hit LA and Seattle pricing.

If you move to Takoma Park, watch your dog. According to the Washington Post, there’s a dog killer on the loose. TP is a “nuclear free zone” but innocent dogs are fair game. Just like a small southern town. The other day I was watching the old movie “The Help.” The parallels between Mississippi and TP are amazing.
@BashirBadruDMVRealtor
@BashirBadruDMVRealtor 3 күн бұрын
So for more context to this, There is no “dog killer on the loose” in Takoma park. A dog attacked its owner in the middle of the night and she was crying for help, so a neighbor heard the cries, came out and shot and killed the dog to prevent it from mauling its owner to death. The fact that Takoma park is a nuclear free zone has nothing to do with the incident. All A nuclear free zone means is that you cannot buy, test or use nuclear weapons in the said area. The dog was shot by a pistol and not a nuclear weapon . You’re making quite an exaggeration of the issue my friend. Lol
@robkimberlin959
@robkimberlin959 2 күн бұрын
@@BashirBadruDMVRealtor Your version is not how the story was reported in The Washington Post. And if what happened was as noble as you are describing why is the dog’s owner so upset and why are the perpetrators afraid to have their name known? As for my reference to the nuclear free zone, I wasn’t implying the poor dog was nuked. I was pointing out the self righteous, self aggrandizing hypocrisy which characterizes your little village. Also, I think anyone thinking about buying a house in your little burg should know there are residents who keep guns and are willing to take it on themselves to shoot their neighbors dogs. Not the idyllic picture TP likes to try to pass itself off as.

Yall can keep Dc….ANY NEIGHBORHOOD! I will also say….WAIT the housing market is in a very interesting state. There very well may be a crash in the near future. I would also say negotiate the price….a lot of the units, homes or condos…are being priced on the high side for many unnecessary different reasons.

Well done Sir, detals matter. House No. 1 has potential. House No. 2 is a no thank you. House No. 3 basement bedrooms should have egress windows, which those didn't seem to be and house No. 4 nicely done, but New Hampshire Ave. is just to busy to live on for me... especially at that price. I just love how these home sellers bump up these prices just because it looks nice.

One of the main reasons why I will not move back to DC is because of those radiators and wall AC units😅 the cost is too high to still have the building regulated by radiator heat. I am so sorry. Central AC and heat is always the move when you’re purchasing because the heat is regulated by the owners of the building and some of these places and you can’t just turn the heat on yourself.

Love your channel and the content, and how your you provide so much great information about the area’s. House 1 is a yes, The price, area, living room , kitchen and outdoors are a great size, but basement area would have to be renovated, especially that bar with those horrible shingles. Now for house 2, the front porch and back area is good, I like the paved area’s, but the grass it’s in need of a landscaper and the sleep in the basement need to be restaged without that bed. House 3 is a flat out no, too many bedrooms on the main level, and house 4 would be perfect but New Hampshire ave has too much traffic.

I grew up in this neighborhood and we would shop at that giant when I was a child. Brings back memories. Anyway, I live in MD now but our family home is still there and we plan on keeping it in the family because the area is just so expensive. We bought in MD, about 700k for a 2700 sqft home on a fourth of an acre, 30 minutes drive from my childhood home. Closer to our work. We might move back someday if it makes sense for our jobs, but you can’t pass up the size of house you can get for far less outside of the district. I’d need over a million to buy in my old neighborhood
