Thanks for your comment. The dealer that originally sold the bike made customizations: the light assembly, side pipes, saddle bags and a few more. That dealership closed several years ago so I can’t ask for any more details. The biggest mod in my mind were the side pipe exhausts but they were super noisy. I did not even notice that I lost a pipe on the highway.

Thanks for your feedback. Initially I tried to do the mechanical set points to maintain an original setup but since the set points don’t really fit I went for electronic. I rather drive than repair ;). The Nissan is my son’s car. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the time to work on it so it’s just sitting there but I agree, it’s a nice ride.

So your problem is that the needles of the front bed do not stay in place when you move them up? Yes, this is the needle brake spring. I have a video for that too :)

… or do you mean that spring in the racking mechanism? Did you try to just tighten the screw? Taking the racking mechanism a part is easy but putting it back together is a bit hard.

The problem with my machine is that the front bed doesn't hold, I have to put some elastic bands attached to the back bed, I think those hooks you see in your video are damaged, that's a big deal.

Do you mean it does not hold left / right ? You need to tighten the screw of your front bed shifting mechanism . Don’t tighten it too much .

The only think that comes in mind is the racking mechanism that moved the front bed. I think it had a black cylinder about that size. I‘m traveling for a few weeks otherwise I‘d double check if I see anything else.

if I remember right all the machines are the same - except the 'suitcase' models. only real difference is how the electronic pattern device connects (peg board, electronic pg board, light scanner, electronic controller or the triangle electronic controller) but the beds & carriages should all be the same.

Sorry, I don’t know if you can do English rib on a singer double bed machine. You can do fisherman rib and I was told they look very similar (like twins). I’m doing a fisherman rib in my video „I learned to rib“ . It creates a very thick texture and would be nice for sweaters or jackets.

Well I thought OEM from a guzzi dealer should work but the geometry was off. I‘m happy now with my electronic Dynatec.

My wife’s superba has a 3rd needle offset position where the needles are very close. It worked there. My singer only has a 2nd offset position. What about your 2310?

From Germany to USA I found DHL was by far the best shipper In Case you know French or German eBay.fr or eBay-Kleinanzeigen.de are also good sources. Congrats to your Guzzi. I first tried to fix the ignition with traditional parts so I bought coils, condensers and points. The points were original guzzi parts however they did not match the original geometry. After a lot of filing holes larger I got it close but not right. You can also read this in guzzi forums so I assume it’s a common problem. The Dyna worked right away and with the new coils I already had. I can‘t really say if the Dyna works better than my old original points because I can‘t remember how it ran 2 years ago. I hope this answers your question.

Thanks, it just didn’t work very long. I ended up installing an electronic contact point system from Dynatec. Now it runs fine so next I need to do some deep cleaning and other maintenance. Good luck with your BMW. Those are awesome bikes and I think their value is increasing over time

I will make a video once I understand how to continuously make it work. If your red light does not light up, it might just be the fuse or the transformer which transforms from 240V~ to around 18v~
