The process IS the punishment. They know what they’re doing, any threat to the financial hegemony is a direct threat to THEM. Everyone forgets this is a penal colony, they still run it as such if you play in ill defined out of bounds areas.

Your understanding of Australian law is impressive. Federal Criminal Law isn't something Aussies normally have ro consider as it's almost always a state/territory matter. Proceeds of crime acts state and federally you're right reverse the presumption of innocence. If you're correct makes me wonder why they haven't been challenged if it's a constitutional protection... I mean the s.52 anti conscription sections haven't been challenged enough (re work for the dole) and it's one of the few rights actually in the Australian constitution.

Dude.. AFP hear and see everything. Can you imagine using illegal wire taps, hearing mountains of evidence you can't even admit to knowing... but having zero legitimately obtained evidence? Lol I feel for them... I just wish they would understand that using illegal surveillance methods to invade someone's privacy is as bad a crime as dealing d' rugs.

Ha ha, yeah the AFP are a mixed bag. My favourite did-the-AFP-really-do-that moment recently was them entrapping and further radicalising that 13 year old boy with autism. “the boy, known by the pseudonym Thomas Carrick, was granted a permanent stay on terror-related charges last October, after a magistrate found police further radicalised him during the operation and “doomed” his efforts at rehabilitation.” A good example of the judiciary getting it right criticising the police.

@@davespanksalot8413 it may not be as bad now, but people have no idea what percentage of police in this country were corrupt. Think about where the one bottle neck is in the application process, one point of failure, where if compromised, you could effectively let in 90 percent mafia and a few autist to fill in the gaps. I think the AFP have been on the ball in this regard, (they will pin you to the wall if you wander into the wrong room at their headquarters. The genuinely appear paranoid about insider threats and corruption.. But yeah, I know someone years ago that learnt how to eavesdropping on mobile phone conversations while the system was still analog.. It would be frustrating as hell to have to follow the rules when the bad guys do not. My friend asked how that's even useful if you need a warrant. He said "when you hear a deal going down, and you match up someone's lips with what you are eavesdropping on (say, in a crowded restaurant), they would just do a random vehicle stop later that day. Amazing luck they used to have with those random vehicle stops 😂

At that time in Australia, law enforcement was using malware platforms like RCS to gather evidence, before there was any legal framework which allowed them to do so. I would speculate that they might have had evidence of wrongdoing that was illegally obtained and they dragged it out to attempt to discover something admissible. It wasn’t until December 2018 that the encryption bill passed which made their use of malware legitimate.

Thanks for the video. Interesting to hear the comparisons to the US .. from the legal language you've cited in the video, freezing a person's assets(depriving them of property) without due process is illegal according to the US Constitution - However, the language you showed that would apply to Australia does not necessarily prevent this; it establishes the concept of "innocent until proven guilty", but it does not explicitly state that the govt cannot deprive you of property before proving guilt.

1:29 haven't listened to the whole video yet but just getting to this point where it sounds like he was promoting an alternative or local currency sounds like a similar idea that was tried (still working I believe) in the city of Brixton, UK. Difference being theirs (Brixton Pound) exchanges 1-to-1 but is only accepted in the various shops and business located with the city Brixton. It was a way to promote the circulation of money without feeding the big businesses of corporate payment processors. They printed their own bills and circulated those bills in Brixton. Al Jazeera English did a report on this like almost 10 years ago I think but I'll see if I can find the video again.

For real tho, I wish that if they bust you on BS and drag you thru the whole backwards ass legal system, they should have to at minimum do 2 things or actually 3: 1. Issue a public apology on all main news networks. 2. Be responsible and considerate enough to scrub it from your arrest history and records! 3. Be responsible for monetary loss, damages, property, pain and suffering, and payment for the impact it has on your future.
