wow, I really liked this, best synthwave I heard using an MPC, I also like that Jura plugin, sounds really good, plus I figure you added some effects on top of it so just sounds awesome, great work !!! what is the preset of the synth / pad that starts to play on 2:32 every bar it plays some kind of pattern based on A and G you can hear it w/o the ducking (no drums and bass) better from 3:37 until 3:58
@krostifmusicАй бұрын
Thanks for your words 💜 About the preset you are looking for, I'm really sorry but I delete my projects regulary and I don't have this one anymore 😕 That said, I was searching and there are a few that sounds close to it in pads soft section, that's probably where I found it and tweaked a bit to adjust.. when you save the project, it saves your tweaks with the program 🙏
@itaydagani1704Ай бұрын
@@krostifmusic I used to own the mpc one but did not like the workflow so sold it, more of an ableton guy, still I always felt it has potential, and now with this Jura plugin and of course your talent I hear it, I make synthwave in ableton or in korg gadget and after hearing your track I decided to re-create it to learn from you as I really liked the track, I hope that is ok by you as I hope one day someone will send me a note like that on one of my tracks :-) I think I got most of the sounds you used but it just doesn't sound quite as full as on the mpc, like the 1st sound you hear right at the start with the sidechain, on the mpc it sounds more full (like there is some pad behind him) but when I use it in ableton it doesn't sound that "rich", guess the effects on mpc also play a role in that. Anyhow, hope to hear more stuff from you in the future !!!
@krostifmusicАй бұрын
@@itaydagani1704 I'm glad you liked it and wanted to recreate it to learn. There are often amounts of chorus, reverb and/or delay/ in the sounds I use. For example, the 1st sound you mention has a delay set on 3/4 time. That's probably why you hear it like there's another pad behind it. I also adjust attack/decay/sustain/release depending on placement and how I want them to react. I think you should be able to bring the bit of richness you are missing with these parameters (if you aren't do it already) 🙏
@itaydagani1704Ай бұрын
@@krostifmusic yes, I figured difference can be because of a delay / reverb I already tried it but ableton delay is different. where did you get the fx sounds you use in transitions, like that swoosh sound that is comes in at 45 seconds and the others ? Also, if you are interested, I am looking to partner with someone on at least 1 synthwave track for starters (also have an akai force but have not used that for synthwave so far), I can share my tracks if you are interested, thanks
@krostifmusicАй бұрын
@@itaydagani1704 swoosh and sounds fx I use on this track come from mpc factory samples and free expansions you can download when you register the unit (like the vault 2.0 for example). If you are on instagram, come and find krostif_music, we could exchange more easier and I will listen to your track with pleasure 🙏

This was such a helpful demo. Thanks. I think the MC303 has the best UI out of all of the grooveboxes. It's compact enough and I like the piano keyboard on it. Prefer it to MC808 or 707 or even 909. Knobs are nice and chunky. They got alot right. Be nice to see a modern version of this not like MC101. It still sounds so great.

Some people have 500 plugins, 4 DAWs, and a $2000 computer, yet they still can't manage to finish tracks or even create something that comes close to this one. Yet, you just proved with the MC-303 that gear and software are merely tools. It's how you use them. And if you sit down long enough with one tool, you can master it and use it to its fullest potential. Terrence Dixon would be proud.
