How do you know that the recipe is safe to pressure cook can if substituting ingredients? I’m new to pressure cooking. Is it just you make sure that only half the jar has solids and half has liquid. How do you know how long to pressure can it for? My family has a lot of allergies like tomatoes, bell peppers. So I’m thinking about substituting ingredients in pressure cooking recipes. Thanks Kathy 🐝🐝

Hi Kathy! Sorry for the delay in responding! When I started canning, I ordered the guidebook from the center for home preservation. They provide guidance as to what can be canned safely. Here is a link to their website: nchfp.uga.edu. Once you know what can be canned, there is a lot of freedom in making foods that are safe for people with allergies or food sensitivities. I hope this helps!

How cool it would be to have one of these for my hubby. He has a brain injury and right now he rides an adult tricycle that the pedals don't give him the extension he needs. It's great that it's low to the ground. How cleaver. Thanks for posting this, looking forward to part 2. :)

I'm sure your hubby would love it! Recumbents are a bit spendy (both the 2 and 3 wheeled variety) but occasionally you might find a bargain on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. It might be worth checking out. Thanks for watching!

Why not have separate channels? I am a woman who was born with a tool belt around my waist and a skillet in hand. I would follow both channels.

Thanks for the encouragement LisaKurt-cm7lr. The reason we've consolidated on just a single channel is just simply due to limited time to devote to creating videos and the other overhead involved with just maintaining the channel. Best case, we post about once per month these days. That's already a small trickle and if we divided that across 2 channels, our postings would be even more spartan. Thanks for watching!!

When and where is part two. I bought a 20?? Terratrike Path 3 spd and it is now 18 spd with a 24-50 front on 155mm crank arms and a 34-12 cassette. I go up steep gravel roads and the only drawback is the light back end . I also raised the seat one inch and put in a slider vs the 4 holes of the seat that do not allow incremental adjustments. The front boom was devoid of braze ons and it is a bit long for a shorter person to fit. I like the internal boom sliding back and forth which of course is someone elses , not mine. Looking forward to see if you paint or powder coat. I have good bright yellow on the bottom and faded dismal yellow on top.

Hey there! Part 1 just dropped on Saturday so part 2 isn’t quite ready yet. I’m hoping it will get posted next weekend but I’m not super sure. My yellow Terra Trike Path seen in the opening of this video also started out as a 3 speed (Sturmey-Archer rear hub with internal transmission) but I swapped out that original drivetrain and turned it into a 14 speed. I LOVE your genius idea of modifying the seat bracket for infinite adjustment!! Recumbents really tend to attract tinkerers like us, don’t they?! Thank for watching and for adding to the conversation. I think you’ll really enjoy episode 2 of this project and how this labor of love comes together. SPOILER ALERT: I did powder coat it! You may want to click the little notification bell so KZbin gives you a heads up on when I release the rest of the story. Thanks again for watching!

Great video and info! Found you through Becky. I feel like I know the whole family watching every video for years! Excited to get to watch your channel now as well. I'm super interested in home management systems so I'm really hoping you can create and show more videos about that. We also need major garage organization help. Oh and as for a gamechanger for me, I got a set of Souper Cubes. It makes it so easy to freeze liquids, sauces, soups, etc and then save in vacuum bags. Then toss in one of the heavy-duty bags in the freezer! Looking forward to learning from you!

Great space to create and relax in. Just found your channel today. Have been watching Becky for years now. So happy to have found your channel. What about putting a comfy chair and ottoman in your empty corner and either a small side table or chest (if you need more storage). Maybe a potters wheel on wheels that you can move into the middle of the room when needed and push it out of the way when you don’t need it. Binge watching today while working around the house.

I need a specific amount of protein per meal. When I make this and other soups I divide the ingredients per jar instead of mixing them in a pot. Extra work but it ensures each jar has the appropriate amount of each item ❤

Hi. I too came from Becky and enjoyed all your videos with her. This looks delicious. Help me out as I too have the same canner and want 7 quarts. Instead of one cup of diced chili you used 4 cans of rotelle chilies and tomatoes? And the corn addition was three cans? I know you didn't drain them because you wanted the sweetness. I am patiently awaiting a sale on ground chicken or turkey. When I find it, this is the recipe I will can up. My sister makes turkey chili but with a lot more onions. Do you think changing the amount of onions would cause any problems with my pressure canning the recipe? Please keep making your cooking and canning videos along with the others. My bandwidth is also challenged most of the time❣️😊 P.S. And it seems to have been challenged while watching this video. My sister's recipe uses ground turkey which in my head equates to ground chicken, but is a totally different "animal" from boneless skinless chicken breast, LOL. So I guess my new question is how do you think all of the changes you made combined with extra onions and slightly precooked ground chicken/turkey would work for canning. I'm thinking 1" head space and 90 minutes processing quarts.😂
@hesaid-sheshed
@hesaid-sheshed Ай бұрын
Hello! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video. To answer your questions: - you can safely change the amount of onions. It just affects the flavor - I used 3 - 15.25 oz cans of corn, undrained - I think cooked ground turkey or chicken would work, just par cook it as you would if you were canning it by itself. Then make sure to mix it well to incorporate so you don’t end up with a big blob of meat in the middle. This made me think of canning my grandmas hamburger soup. It was so simple and so good! Happy canning!! ❤

Hi Renee, luv watching u in the kitchen. I grew Lemon Grass this year. It grows like crazy and seems as soon as u trim a bunch off, u have to trim again. My plant is still young so im sure by next summer i will have some nice stalks. I think u should grow it. Great for tea also. I cant remember if Becky grows it, she grows so much. Luv her. Yes, grow the Lemon Grass.
