I have the Ruger American in .22LR and lubed the bolt with some light synthetic grease and the bolt works fine and accuracy is very good. I switched out the sights to Williams Globe and am very satisfied . I have the Tikka TX3 in .223 with 24” bull barrel. Of course it is a much more expensive rifle and is a nail driver.

I bought one of these several years ago when they came out and I didn't like it. The stupid plastic inserts in the serrations broke off after one class, the ambi slide release had way too much flex to be usable, the pistol shot way low compared to all of my other pistols and I just thought it felt very cheap in the hand. There is a perceptible difference in quality between the vp9 and the p30 or USP. I got rid of it after a year of trying to get along with it. Maybe my example was a bad one but it was one of my least favorite pistols I've bought in the last decade

Outstanding Video to say First. I just discovered your channel, am a pistol & rifle owner, as well as a shooter at my local range. Have been looking at all the Caniks you just reviewed because I am looking at purchasing one soon, but only at a good price. I want to Thank You Guys so much for explaining everything to me in a clear and precise manner. I have been looking primarily at the SFT and SFX, but recently been looking at the whooping expensive (for me anyway) TTI Combat. I think I have made my decision now, and this video made my mind up.

Interesting comparison. Would you say the Tikka T3x Compact Tactical is a compromise between the TAC A1 and the Lite?

I have a Tikka CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor and the accuracy is similar to the TAC A1. I think the major difference between the two is the stock. The TAC A-1 has a chassis and the CTR has plastic stock. That said, you can get a 24" Stainless CTR for ~$1,150, so it might be worth it to buy a CTR and upgrade to a chassis of your choosing instead of getting the TAC A1. The ~$1,000 price difference could buy you a really high end chassis. P.S. When you say the 300 yard targets are 0.5 inch MOA and 0.75 inch MOA, are the groups 0.5 in and 0.75 or 0.5 MOA and 0.75 MOA? 1 MOA is ~1 inch at 100 yards but ~3 inches at 300 yards.

It's a simple process. From the 1st to the most recent Canik. They are all too thick, too heavy and too bulky. A good good trigger is not enough!

It scares me every time I see someone play with a gun they didn't spend 2 minutes to explore. Like this fella. 2 minutes tops he would know you don't pull the trigger on a vp9 to take apart or put back together.

With a much as it jammed in this video, I wouldn’t spend my money that❗️ Especially at its 2k+ price point. For that amount of money it has to be more reliable. Thank for the review, great video.

I was going through handguns just buying and selling to make a few bucks. This was the first gun that out of the case made me think, this is a well made gun. I wasn't a fan of striker fired pistols and didn't like that there was no safety. From a mechanical standpoint, the factory trigger was light years ahead of Glock g17 and g19. The tactical gave slide plates for different optics and the adjustable grip was perfect. Never had a malfunction and it was a decent size and weight. It felt good in your hand and I always tell people how good it was.

Not that my commentary means anything a year after being released. However, some like I might be watching now for the first time. Also I have a question for the masses. But first, it’s NOT an Oryx chassis. It’s an Axis precision chassis. The thumb screws for the cheek riser are not interchangeable between the oryx and the Axis. Oryx’s full length Arca rail isn’t compatible and doesn’t have m-Lok on the side of the fore-end. The rear stock of the chassis is essentially the same (less the thumb screw compatibility) Now for the question. What is the purpose of that orange “o-ring” that’s around the rear action screw? This is also unique to the Axis precision chassis

I have been told by some not to touch the Canik. Everyone saying buy the CZ Shadow 2. Just bought the Canik SFT Pro. Want a pistol that I can carry everyday. Yet throw on a compensator and optic over the weekend and shoot competition. May need to add a bit of weight on the grip for balance if I add the front compensator, but will check when I get it. It isn’t about price for me. I can afford any of them. I just wanted a daily carrier and the other pistols feel too large to carry comfortably everyday. I did consider the SFX Pro, but once you have the compensator on it, with the longer barrel and slide the additional front weight will challenge the balance of the pistol, I think. Anyway, your review is great and it was helpful in my decision. SFT Pro might not give me the same competition performance (yet to test that theory), but it gives me the everyday carry option which is important to me. And it faired around the #3 mark for all of you, when compared to dedicated range pistols, that isn’t bad at all.

I'm a fellow cross eye dominant. I didn't know I was until I was 10 so I really don't know what the world would look like without it. Never really hampered me, don't love red dots as much as the world seems to, I've taken all of my red dots off pistols except the Walther PDPs which seem to work with the red dot. VP9 is a great pistol, everyone should have one in their safe.
