2:22 exactly why i did not teach my children the letter names first. They can't go around saying the letter names to pronounce /sound out words

Wow! Good for her! I cannot imagine learning a new language. I've gotten only so far with Italian and the alphabet is mostly the same as my own, so, i can't say much for me, but i bet she'll go far in no time! Especially with Spencer teaching her!

English is beautifully inconsistent! It's been my other first language (my native one being Italian) for the past 2 decades and it still manages to trow me off guard from time to time! That's why I LOVE it unconditionally! It still has surprises in store for me!

Where can we buy the alphabet cards you use? The ones I find for sale are thin and cheap.

The whole experiment with sight words has been a massive failure for generations of kids. I learned to read by the time I was 4, and it was by watching the monsters sound things out on Sesame Street! Phonics is the only way to go.

I’m starting our homeschool journey soon. This video has helped me understand how to communicate to my kids with school work. I have a brain injury and that’s affected my speech so this has really helped in every day communication with my kids.

Yes. Thank you. Legislating how children are allowed to learn is such b.s. let teachers teach all the ways so that kids figure out how to learn!

You can’t sound words out in English, though. Our writing system doesn’t match our phonetic system.
