If you don’t rinse conditioners out completely it will leave a coating which will cause a film to buildup each time you do this and prevents your hair from shining or effectively blocking future conditioner’s from penetrating. You will eventually have to clarify your hair to strip the coating off or you will have a dry, detangled, damaged mess on your hands. Never leave conditioner in unless it’s a leave in.

I was completely natural for years. Didn’t use any heat at all and my curls were beautiful l. Once I gave birth to my son I started using my flat iron again because straight hair is just so much easier to manage. Curly hair needs a lot of maintenance and I just didn’t have the time. I’m trying to go back to my curls now and feel so demotivated and sad with where my hair is at right now.

Thank you for your videos I’m transitioning from relaxer curling iron and blow drying my hair. My roots to my mid-section are curly but towards my ends are kind still strait. I’m not ready to let go of my ends yet so looking to see what I can do before I decide to chop my ends.

Hello dear.. thank you So much for your videos I thoroughly enjoy them 😍🙌🏼 Please if I may ask is it safe to use these steaming caps?? Like when you need to infuse moisture into natural hair? I think I’ve seen something of the sort around… is it safe to do on natural hair & combination hair (that is to mean,hair that isn’t completely natural yet & still transitioning?

I started my transition this Friday. I stop using relaxers in December but I put heat on it at the beginning of June.

I’m currently just kinda pissed off bc my relaxed hair was so well managed and heavily complimented and now it’s in a bun 90% of the time bc I’m busy & active and do 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 have the time to be doing all this so my hair looks somewhat busted. I can’t live my life without having to take an ungodly amount of time styling and restyling so this ain’t it. Imma keep going but I’m pissed about how much re-education is required and how much lifestyle change it is. Anyone else?

I'm late to the party because these videos are very old, however I'm so glad I found you! I have been on and off natural for most of my adult years , however I am coming off a good year and a half of wearing my hair mostly straight. I would say I have 3b 3c extremely fine hair . I have never really had an issue reverting back to curly but idk if it's because I'm in my 40s now, hormones ,or whatnot, but my hair is not having it lately. I seem to have forgotten what's worked for me in the past, and unfortunately alot of product, oils, etc are toi heavy for my hair and actually end up breaking it. I have been trying to follow so many tutorials, but just feel confused with all the contradictory info, and yes, I am guilty of trying to get twist outs to stay twisted whole I have straight heat damaged ends. So I am so glad I have found your tutorial woth exact week by week steps. This is exactly what I've been looking for. It's crazy because when I wasn't wearing my hair straight I've always been a wash and go girl and never had to put much thought into my hair because for the most part it's very easy to deal with. However now I actually want to grow my hair past bra strap length which is probably the longest stretches I've ever achieved. Clearly my practices have not been healthy for retention. I'm feeling much more confident now with your steps so thank you!!

My hair is all the above temperamental it's curly (on the bottom) wavy (middle)and straight (top). And my hair tends to grow weird (one side would grow faster than the other side).

I big chopped and started with one inch of hair in 2015 and I was natural for almost 8 years and decided to get one relaxer and cut my hair into a bob. One month later I missed my fluffy hair and decided I wasn’t getting a second relaxer. I refuse to go bald again so this transition journey is new for me. I’m doing ok with treating all my hair as if it’s natural because I don’t remember any other way to style. I’m only 3mths post relaxer and I plan on transitioning for as long as I can hold out this time. I’ve been wearing braid outs because I’m already used to not using flat irons so I blow dry and then do a braid out. I’m going to experiment with flexi rods next. My bob has already grown 2.5 inches in 3 months so I’m doing something right. I’m getting my ends trimmed next but my bob still looks clean cut no see through ends so I’ve retained my length. I’m excited to be on this new journey.

16:06 How do you go about trimming? Is there a certain way you should cut the hair for best results? Should it be wet, damp, dry, etc?
@adaorammojekwu3355 Жыл бұрын
i love this video. you did not complicate things with big terms like others do and you made it super easy. even the products you recommended are easy to find. Thank you! my hair is super damaged from relaxers and heat and its very short but like you said, its a spiritual journey for me and im excited. I have always done weaves and braids so my only wory is how to own my hair especially in its damaged stage.
