I didn’t go to my Dads funeral in December. I adored my father, but I adore my peace and my own family more, by staying away from the narc family members at the funeral. My Dad and I said goodbye a few days before, when he was alive. The guilt tripping and punishment were real when I said I wasn’t going. No regrets, I’ve been homoring him a ton in many ways this year-it’s been beautiful and healing.

Truth teller here: real reason why I refuse to have kids is because of my mom. That multi generational abuse leading to no contact ends with me. Growing my mom never spoke to or about her mom. Now as an adult I have gone no contact with my mom. I will not pass this cycle to any children.

I’m going to talk about it. I’m going to defend and befriend (if they will have an old broad friend) all my brothers and sisters no matter their personal choices. As said by a better person than I, I’m going to mind my own damn business!

Once in a while, I'll get a response from a GenZ person and they call me a boomer. I just explain to them that boomers were the generation before mine, and I give them respect and thanks for their efforts in paving the way for our generation (gen X) to have the conveniences we have and gen Z has. Still don't know what happened to Gen Y. I think they're all still asking "Y" did all of this happen? lol Then I remind the GenZ person that everything they have now in life is because of past generations' efforts and work. And that they shouldn't be spreading negativity about them, but instead, be greatful for their work. The clothes you wear, the cars you drive, the electronic gadgets and devices you use, the homes you live in, the music you listen to, the movies you watch, the computers you have, all of it was because of the technological advancements of past generations. To berate a past generation because of their political views is like shooting yourself in the foot. Because for the most, the improvements made in technologies were highly effected by past political policies. Everything from manufacturing regulations to employment regulations, importing and exporting resources, outsourcing manufacturing of products, and even regulations on patent and copyright theft. So a lot had to be established under political regulations in order to manufacture and sell products that were evolving stages of the things we have today. I say thank God for boomers! Thank God for those who went to war to save our freedom from tyranny and the destruction of our democracy. It is the genZ people that have yet to prove their worth. They just act like they're owed respect by default.

And what sucks about having a deadbeat dad is having even worse mother in your life who is nothing but an extreme narcisitic abuser and is responsible for very traumatic experiences your life even up to this day. So I understand you very well. You did yourself a solid when you stayed away from this toxic relationship. The air must be clearer now with them out of your life.
