Some sort of super friends control deck that can insta-kill with Vraska is the only way I see it ever seeing play.

It works better in red turn 1-bolt 2-2 mana pinger from duskmoorn 3- this 4- the 3 mana anti heal card from duskmoorn swing then if they don't block ping it with any 1 mana card to lock them out of heals and get extra 3-5 dmg so low end 12dmg turn 4

Darksteal and progenitous aren't going to be playable. Card you should actually be worried about people cheating into play is omniscience (which is also in the set 😊)

With shocklands and pain lands being in most pioneer decks I feel like this plans can’t come together, it’s too easy for an opponent to play a land and not be at 20 for you to half the life, mono red is probably better for second rite

I don't think it'll do much. The price drop will be nice for EDH, but otherwise it will see little or no play in Pioneer and Standard.

Squirrel tokens and counters. can crate like 10 squirrels easy and pump them to like 5/5 throw unnatural growth in there and your the big bad with a bunch of squirrels that will rip peoples heads off

Doubling season is not a good card, even in edh. It's a win more 5 mana card that does not immediatly impact the board. It's so expensive only because everyone who isn't an expert deck builder thinks it's mandatory in a token deck. I guess it can be good with Vraska or similar things if it causes an insta win, so it may be meta relevant, but not in the way an edh player thinks.

Doubling season will have no impact on standard. It didnt the last time it was in standard and it wont have any this time. 5 mana for a card that dosnt impact the board or offer some kind of snowball value engine stuff is just going to lose you more games than win. its in the same vein as dockside, rhystic study, smothering tithe, cards like that which are stone unplayable in 1v1 constructed formats.

the idea of a "do nothing for a turn card" is interesting to me. if you are not in danger (or the opponent flies over) your non haste creatures are "do nothing for a turn cards" too some planeswalker may have no "first turn take over the board effect" but need 2 or 3 turns. and/or only work with other cards together (which doubling season would be the same scenario), but they mostly not get shit on.

I think it’ll be good in some decks like 4 color fires or enigmatic incarnation as a one of or a wish board target but I don’t think any decks will run copies main board
