I picked up the Shenmue collection on a whim in April, I played through both games completely blind with the english voice acting. I've got to say Shenmue 1&2 quickly became the best games I've ever played and its topped all the other games I've played in my life, including the Yakuza games. This gameplay footage makes me even more excited for Shenmue 3 :D

The Kickstarter specifically said that it would come to Steam, and they were posting updates on Steam barely a week ago, but now it wont be on Steam, and they wont even refund the backers who want their money back because of this (pretty sure that's illegal). I was a big Shenmue fan since the original Dreamcast game came out but the devs are disgusting backstabbing a-holes and I hope this game fails. Shenmue 3 literally only exists because of the people who backed the Kickstarter and the devs betrayed them. People are now looking to sue. Do NOT buy this game.

@@mattcy6591 I agree, this is very good considering his limited budget and resources, it feels like the originals and fit into the Shenmue universe. I like the sound of the children playing in the background, like the past games. I'm glad Ryo looks correct, I was concerned when I saw the reveal in 2016. If they can recreate the detail with modern tech to the best they can, ie characters having homes and businesses they go to everyday or some daily routine like the originals, it made the world feel alive. One of my favourite things was watching people browsing in the shops or at the windows, entering cafes, sitting down eating, seeing the children at random playing in the streets. It was like nothing else at the time. Even to this day I haven't seen games portray to the level Shenmue has even with better graphics.

Hope this will be one of many videos to come. This looks great and it certainly brings back good memories but they need to show more variety "Combat, QTE, Story, Environment, Music". This series is great because of all those things together and not just "Mini Games". Let's wait and see, I still have faith in the series.

@@gregthomas764 I owned both the games when they first came out. They shouldn't be releasing a "game play" trailer just for us to see turtle racing, dice and lucky hit. Feels incomplete giving us an idea of how the combat mechanics are etc. Obviously this game isn't fully finished yet but that's why I'm on the fence about this. So feel free to buy it if you're going based off of this trailer.

The graphic are really good especially the lighting, it makes all the characters look like they are made from clay, lighting like that would be impossible back in the PS3/xbox 360 age. The voice acting is very Shenmue also.
