*Audible sigh of relief!* I finally found a fellow Aussie bookish content creator! Thank you! 🙏 I love my fellow bookish guys and gals from over the pond but, it's refreshing to get a book dragon closer to home! Access isn't always easy here in Australia and I constantly get FOMO as many of the "sparklies" of the Bookworld allude me and just makes me sad as I cannot always afford the shipping costs from the US....most times this is more expensive than the books themselves, it's a real problem here..forget sprayed edges- just hardcover prices can be crazy....😢 Thanks for strengthening my devotion to books once again!💕

I've started reading A House of Salt And Sorrows and I'm enjoying it so far, the vibes are very damp lol 😂 Another I've just started getting into which sounds like it'd be right up your alley is Threadneedle by Cari Thomas. Dark & spooky, with magic in modern day London. Blessed Beltane to you, I'm going to go admire your cottage garden now - what an incredible place! I am in Central Western Victoria and the blooms are sublime here at this time of year, all the roses are coming out 🌹

My adult son hadn’t spoken to me for five years and every day my heart breaks at the realisation that he’s not a part of my life. I have so much love for him that has nowhere to go. Xx

Thanks Nancy! Loved the book recommendations. Please do more of these as you go! I’m a long time reader but have only taken to fantasy recently. Struggled to find reads that suit my very specific tastes in this genre but these sound just like what I’m after 😊

I have been DEVOURING books this year after re-discovering my passion for reading after so, so long telling myself 'you don't have the luxury of time to read books, Nancy, you should be working!'. What a nonsense negative inner critic I have... I tell her to shut it now, and curl up with a book! I too struggle to find books I REALLY click with - why are all the characters so YOUNG?! I can't wait to get started writing my own book soon... watch this space 🌹xx

@ I think telling your inner critic to shush is definitely warranted. Reading is good for you brain, as is resting, so you’re actually preparing your brain to be more productive when it does work - or that’s my story and I’m sticking to it 😉 I hear you re: young characters. I read The Cloisters recently which I really enjoyed as it was a murder mystery with a “mystical” base (tarot, herbalism, all set in an art gallery that featured a dark academia theme). It was something different for murder mystery and it had a really moody feel about it given the setting and the underlying premise of the story but the characters were young in that one too. And I’ve been reading the Everflame series which again, is full of young characters. Sigh. Looking forward to hearing more about your book though!
