Crime: Actually doing a crime while you're under 18 actually may guarantee you're safe as opposed to doing it in the 50's. 13-17 years holding down girl and gang raping get no time or punishment. Even murder gets them free. Good Crime advice isn't doing it in the 50's, it's doing it before you're 18 because society has convinced itself you're a child. Which is scientifically ridiculous. If you have adult desires like sex or death, you're not a child. A slap on the wrist for under 18 crimes was invented when they thought stealing candy and action figures was their only crimes. We made horror and violent music a norm introducing it to the mainstream. Kids aren't kids anymore. People need to wake up and stop giving them a free pass. While they permanently ruin lives.

31:00 so we acrually saw the barrels getting moved; in 1x02 "Aleksander" told Jürgen, Eric's dad to move them; to which Jürgen correctly replied this might draw the police's attention; after Ulrich broke in at the place where Jürgen lives in the trailer, Aleksander can be seen in the forest while other people operate heavy machinery to move oddly barrel shapes that are covered with black tarp; in 1x03 we then got the idea that it might have been the barrels that got moved after the disappearances; and this was clever because Charlotte would have found them when she git the warrant

50:00 I still find this so interesting; did you figure out which door this is? It is the one that Ulrich tried to get through; so if Claudia hadn't asked "Aleksander" to weld it shut, Ulrich might have gotten through with the crowbar and found the barrels; which also means we found out while Charlotte was here why Ulrich couldn't succeed and here we just figured out how that was welded shut

It usually doesn't if you do not adhere to the "do not look at that scene" nonsense. (And if people wouldn't look at it mid episode after entering the episode they are currently watching... not sure why people keep doing that). The show can not spoil itself. That is not how spoilers work. That being said, people could simply go back to the murder wall in 1x01, and since Fabio and Manny are on season two, they have already seen the collection of family pictures, which is another neat visual reference.

I know it was meant as a joke but as a fan of both DARK and StrangerThings: Both shows are nothing alike and honestly are basically in different genres. Aside from the first 2 episodes they really can't be compared (that becomes even clearer in S2 of DARK). Both shows are very good and successful in what they aim to achieve, I think. They both have their individual strengths and in my opinion only a few weaknesses (no show is perfect). I really enjoy your reactions. You are the first reactors in a long time where I watch the entire video of DARK Reactions again because you really put in a lot of effort to keep on top of the show, theorize and look out for the tiny details

So by now it's obvious why Helge's mom is that cold. "It's not Bernd's child. It was not made in love". If you look up the spoiler free family tree which the makers of DARK put online, you'll see that Bernd Doppler is not mentioned as father but a man called Anatol Veliev (who is not shown anywhere). Helge was born in 1944 during the war. But more isn't explained

21:40 I should probably check back tomorrow if I wanted to say anything about the first 21 minutes... anyways; this scene is kinda interesting; I mean Greta did act equally odd towards Helge BUT her name is Greta (which is a short version of Margarethe... is that important? similar names are Grete and Gretel... like the one from Hänsel and Gretel; where Hänsel is itself version of Hans) and the name of the dog is Gretchen; sounds similar? well the ending "-chen" is one way in German to mark the diminutive in German (other diminutives are formed with "-lein"; and sicne I mentioned Hans there is also the nickname Hänschen); so their dog is named "little Greta" - I am not sure she is taking it very well when that is mentioned to her

I usually don't do podcasts but since this is about DARK ;) Sooo... there is actually a logical error and it is very mindboggling; this episode depicts November 9th 1986/2019, right? So why does Jonas meet Regina at school? Why does it seem like there are classes going on? November 9th, 1986, was a Sunday; but if we take into account that Charlotte looked up the wildlife cam for Oct 25th instead of Nov 4th then this would have been October 30th 1986 which was a Thursday; still not sure why they changed those dates around

I vividly remember the days when the show was dicsussed a lot on Facebook. There were so many people giving Egon crap for asking "such a dumb question" like "why not forest road?"; then on June 21 2019 season 2 came about and there were people genuinely hating on Egon again for how dumb he was and others who claimed they completely rewrote his character after being so dumb in season one; these were people who had already heard Regina saying Mads went missing in the forest; and had seen Helge (more or less) living in the Doppler cabin; and went through the reveal of this episode that Helge had most likely abducted Mads in the forest and taken him to the bunker near that cabin in the forest;

12:30 Usually people question whether she told anybody about that before going down into the cave... but the part where she mysteriously summons the gear is probably the part where she calls it in. Then again maybe it is standard equipment in a police cruiser in a town where they have their own cave system? Or maybe they had the gear on hand after they had searched the caves earlier this week!? This reminds me, did I mention this in epsiode 3? I rewatched the show with a friend of mine and in episode 3 when Claudia pressed Bernd on the numbers and is going down into the caves in her heels, he said: "And then Bernd stood up from his wheelchair and cut the rope." Would have made a plot twist. Bit "subverting the expectations" but still kinda neat. Oh and subverting the expectations (of the audience) is basically a derogatory term with us. Hollywood (show) writers weirdly think it was a good thing and use it like it was equal to "exceeding the expectations"; but it never is; it does what the label says: deliver such a bad plot twist that the audience lowers their expectations

13:55 well... different door from which door!?
@michaelklaus
@michaelklaus Күн бұрын
16:55 and that my friends is a paradox; a seemingly logical contradiction; but it obviously is only a seemingly contradiction; for example in BTTF... have you seen BTTF? (EDIT... well you are basically quoting BTTF2; sadly Gale and Zemeckis completely made up two of the integral parts of those movies) well in one scenario the timeline would be rewritten without Jonas' existence; many things would be similar but Hannah e.g. might be drastically different if she never married Mikkel; which in turn might have changed other things around her; but the question is would Jonas seize to exist or simply hang around in a world where nobody knows him? this of course violates one of the core assumptions about time: causality the most liked scenario is rather similar but it solves your issue completely; if we assume this happens in an alternate timeline, then Jonas origin timeline would still exist from a non-linear viewpoint; only in this "new" timeline there would be the aforementioned differences... and Jonas would definitely hang out there without anybody knowing him because usually it is assumed that a time traveler can never return to a timeline once they left it; or we might find out that it is in one way or another impossible for Jonas to succeed in bringin back Mikkel; that all time travel was not only causal but also deterministic; this would of course violate a different assumption we have about time: free will or rather that all potential actions (or rather spontaneous reactions) were possible;
