I feel so silly asking this question, the slips are the eyes coming out of the sweet potatoes and why are Organic the Best?
@growingoutthebox
@growingoutthebox Сағат бұрын
@@patriciamorrison5372 No such thing as a silly question when you don’t know. The slips grow from the eyes on the potatoes. You brake the slips off and plant them. Not the sweet potatoes. Organic is grown without synthetic chemicals/fertilizers.

I've had to give up on growing broccoli and kale because I can't keep up with the harlequin bugs. It's an infestation every year. That does call in a bunch of wheel bugs, but the plants still get eaten up. I feel like the wheel bugs keep just enough of the harlequin bugs alive to create another wave. Farming them.

It's obvious. The more ground up it is, the more surface area it has for microorganisms to attach to it and help it to decompose. But I don't have a coffee grinder at home and I have the time to wait for it to decompose on its own even if it takes a couple of years.

Love this harvest! And those sweet potatoes! Here in Canada t the growing season was too short and two years ago all I got were fingerlings. Course it was my first year. Those containers look insulated. So neat how you have your sitting areas all around your garden. We've started putting in seating areas to try to stop weeds from coming under the fences from our neighbors. Easier to control. Also looks good.

Thank you for your message. I try to do a monthly tour so that the viewers can see for themselves the growth. Not just in the plants but in imagination. The purpose is to encourage as well as inspire. Messages like yours lets me know that I’m headed in the right direction. Collectively Growing Out The Box has over 700K neighbors/supporters between all social media platforms. I take nothing for granted. Replying to your messages is just how I am. It keeps me humbled. Ultimately, I want share this journey by bringing in corporate sponsors and through some sort of live/podcast, share the growth. I never want this to be about me and it never will be. Most of the product sponsors send me I give them away to you guys. It helps me with direction when replying because I get to write my thoughts in real time and act on a vision that is far greater than myself. The garden is just over 3 years old but the grower is 58 trying to discover purpose. I’m not a religious person but I am extremely spiritual…. God was completely satisfied with his creation, particularly with the creation of Adam and the Garden itself, signifying Adam’s obedience and harmony with God's will. I’m learning to grow.🙏🏽
