Hi, does the ims stuff and the bore scour or whatever it was, does that concern you? Im also thinking of getting this car or a Jaguar F type which costs abit more. Or i could buy a Jaguar XK 4.2 convertible instead. I wonder if you are familiar with those cars?
@PoorschedriverАй бұрын
@Sha-Ayo I'm not familiar with jags so I can't advise you there. What I can tell you is the 06 boxster S is the only porsche with a low risk of bore score and the large ims bearing. So it has the lowest chance if either issue. I maintain it very well and drive it hard.

I had a 2005 Boxster S modded for my needs, Milltek exhaust, LWF, short shifter, Bilsteins, under drive pulley, ECU tune. As close to a Spyder as possible. Then I got a 981 Spyder. As the saying goes, “A newer Porsche is a better car, but a worse Porsche.”
@PoorschedriverАй бұрын
@clu4u wow, I've never heard that! I'd say it's a controversial statement. The newer cars are wonderful, but there is definitely a loss of feel and tactility. I've not driven the 981 spyder, but I've got a 981 GTS, and I've had ample time in a 981 gt4, so I'd imagine it falls somewhere in between. The 981 does have the advantage of feeling like a more serious sports car that can hang with big boys, which is why I got mine. However, the 987 will always be my winding road asphalt scalpel.

Just a week ago drove my 2000 Boxster S home 3 hours on twisty roads from sweden after nervously buying my first sports car. Spendt 40 mins getting used to it and getting the engine warm under 3k RPM . Then I stepped on it and I was vibrating inside the car as it hit 4000+ RPM, screaming "THIS IS THE SMARTEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!". And the smell with the top up.. old leather mixes with tones of hot engine. My god what an experience this car has been for me this far. Can't wait until summer somes (gonna detail and change water pump, + IMS/clucth during winter to make sure it runs smoothly)

The mount is just a 3-cup mount I got off of Amazon. I've used it before on the street and it's really strong. But as a precaution I decided to not extend the stick all the way. All in all I thought it would be a cool perspective since normally you can't run a 360 on the track. Thanks for watching!

Nice footwork. Do you do any exercise to improve your foot flexibility ? Do you think big feet can do this ? (13US)
@Poorschedriver6 ай бұрын
@VincentFerrer Thanks! It is possible for larger feet, but the technique is different. Rather than rotating the ankle to get the heel on the gas, you'll just roll your foot to catch the gas pedal with the side of your foot. Shows make a difference as well. Larger sneakers usually mean you need to just roll your foot, whereas a proper driving show allows you to get your heel on the pedal. In the end, it doesn't matter what you do so long as you're having fun.

Soon the early Boxsters, 986 and 987 will rocket in price and everyone will be after them, as happened with the 911 before it became very collectable. There seems to be growing interest on KZbin in these cars.
