to help align the threads (one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks) is it worth constructing/fabricating some of kind of visual guide/reference (before removing the original) that can attach to something else close by that is fixed and not in the way to illustrate the correct (up-down & forward-back) angle. I know from experience when one's body is all twisted up, working and viewing (sometimes blind) from strange angles, one can be so far off in estimating the correct angle....and when you finally get it right, it seems so impossibly off the angle you were going for you wonder how you ever found or stumbled upon the correct angle. With a ball park starting angle guide of some sort, perhaps the correct angle that works could be found faster and the time to construct the cardboard or PVC or stiff wire alignment guide tool would be worth it. I have not dug into this job yet so perhaps this idea is out of the question but thought I'd ask some of you guys that already struggled to find that angle who would know if this might be worth doing. It sounds like it's worth the extra dollars to buy the OEM part and avoid the potential issues of a potentially problematic after market part. If you type in Majestic Honda Parts it redirects you to their discounted parts website where this high pressure hose is available for $212.26. Still very pricey but if it saves me several extra hours of frustration it might be worth it. What's you opinion on installing a new pressure switch at the same time? I definitely have a power steering fluid leak but not sure yet where it is coming from. I already have a new Reservoir so will install that and 2 new OEM - O-rings on the high pressure hose fitting at the pump and the plastic low pressure return tube first to see if either of those fix the leak but will also check as you pointed out the underside of the high pressure hose at the pressed on-clamp where it attaches to the pump. thanks for all the work you and others have put in to make this DIY guide.

Late to comment, but the expanding foam you used, is a Polyurethane expanding foam, it is NOT an acoustic expanding foam, it is also not a fire retardant foam. You need to use an acoustic expanding foam that is fire rated, if you want to reduce noise levels inside a door. Also you should be using the canister upside down, not holding it upright.🙂

Hi Greg! Thank you for posting this. I have a 2000 Cadillac Deville DTS that had what I thought to be a bad window regulator. My boyfriend was able to take everything apart and get the new one in there (thanks to your video :) ) but when we went to test it (before reassembling) we found that when trying to raise the window it starts slowing down at the halfway point and then if you keep holding it will go again but stops shortly before the top. We’ve read tons of articles and tried resetting the “stop points”, read my manual, and tried loosening/tightening bolts and nothing is working. Any ideas?! Hoping by some miracle you’ll see this and have some ideas for us!

Perfect! I just picked up a 74 Alpina and was wondering how to do this. Also....wondering if you ever shot a vid on how to set up and time these bikes with new points? Would love to see that as I realize you first have to "set" the point gap with the flywheel on and at TDC, but then you are supposed to advance the stator plate to like 2.5-2.75 and have no idea how to do this. HOpefully you'll see this msg after 6 years have gone by.
@gregs_garage29 күн бұрын
I did not do such a video. The instructions are out there. There is an eccentric to adjust the position of the points and thus the timing.
