I did a Google search and it appears you cannot because there is no scenery editor or SDK options for XBox. I did not do a deep dive so there may be something obscure out there that I did not find. Hello. I saw your video and maybey you can help me out. A member of our flightsim club is building me a privat airport in msfs2020 that he did for other members as well. Now the problem is that de ILS is showing up in my g1000 as an VOR. Instead of ILS. I read on a website that the ILS frequenties are from 108.00 to 112. and the VOR from 108.00 to 117.95. 108 to 112 is the range for the glideslope. My airport has the freq 115.20 and 115.40. So I asked him to change that into 111.20 - 111.40. Just for trying. He did that but unfortunately it didn't help. It stil behaves as a VOR. Do you have any idea about what to do? We are desperate. On the other privat airports it is the same issue. The VOR is at startup pointing to the west. So I dial my course to 227º (the course of the runway) and the neadle turns in the right direction. But because it is behaving like a VOR there is no glideslope. I hope you can help us. Kind Regards, Tonny

Hi Tonny. I have not worked with ILS because it is difficult and takes trying and checking and trying and checking. The main reason I build scenery is to help others. I didn't want to put out a video that may or may not work. I don't think it would be helpful. And, since I do not build airports I personally use, I have not attempted an ILS. Some of the folks on my Facebook Group have done it and they say it is hard. But, you are welcome to join if you want and see if one of the folks in the group can help you. The process works every time. I am not with you, so I can only speculate a step is being missed. I can break it down to the most simply form here. 1. You need a scenery folder. I would go with the supplied simlescenery folder in SDK samples. 2. Open the sceney folder and navigate to PackageSources. 3. Open PackageSources and delete modellib and scene 4. Make sure the Earth2MSFS is pointing to the exact PackageSources folder. You can select the folder through the Earth2MSFS tool, or you can copy and paste the path to that folder. 5. Start the E2MSFS tool. You can keep the scenery folder open so you can see it work. The first thing you will see is the tool will build a modellib folder. Once all the tiles are built, the tool will add a scene folder. Once this part of the process is complete, you can continue and complete the package. All of this takes time. The larger the area you select, the longer it takes for everything to be completed. I hope this helps.

Thank for watching. That is an interesting question. I have to assume every other step worked as in the video. Did the Earth2MSFS tool finish the process? Are you certain, the Earth2MSFS tool is pointing to the correct PackageSources folder?

Thanks for watching. From what I have read the trees will be more regional in MSFS 2024. I get it. MSFS is a major accomplishment software and Asobo learned a lot so of course the new sim will built on all that was learned.

The frenchvfr PBY has its thrust set t0 zero. Could you make a video on how to increase the trust? I imagine about 3000-4000lbs of thrust per motor is accurate. You can see the engine thrust is zero in the developer debug tool when revving the engines. This would help a lot cause the airplane wont move in the sim unless its gliding.

Thanks for watching. You can add anything that is in the scenery library. If you have Gaist boats, you can add them. If you have trouble finding them in the objects window, you can individual select packages on the right window inside the objects window. Once you choose a package, only objects from that specific group will appear in the object's pane.

What appears to be missing in the tutorial is you need to add the OBJECT AIRPORT with ICAO code before you can add any airport objects.

I got as far as deleting the runways with the delete command, but unlike with yours the runways did not disappear when I ticked the box. Am I missing something. Also same with starts and taxiways.

Thanks for watching. I bet the sim runway and taxiways were removed and what you see is the satellite images and the base world map. Those will remain but you cover them up with your own runway. If you plan to place the new runways and taxiways in a different location, you can, but you will need to cover the satellite images with a ground texture. I hope that helps.

Welcome, and thanks for watching. I am not familiar with Unity so you will have to educate me. Through a search, I found Unity 3-D development. Is that what you are referring to? With me asking you questions it is reasonable to assume I am not going to be helpful in this area. 😊MSAFS SDK has its limitations. You can certainly import 3D objects into the sim but all imported objects run through Blender. I don't know how you reverse the process.

@@williamhiciano394 Ha! That may be too simple for me. 😊You don't make maps in SDK you add objects and textures with GPS coordinates so the appear where you want them to appear. My mind goes a couple of directions with this question so I am unsure what you want to accomplish. Tell me exactly what you want to happen so I can understand.

Thanks for watching. Now, we should address the elephant in the room. Sorry fo the cliche but it was too easy. Based on what you have done, of course, you should see it. This elephant; is it part of the scenery library and is the scenery source with the elephant always loaded either in the Community Folder or standard library? Obviously, it should be there if so. The only time I have seen objects missing is when the objects used in a package are not always loaded.

Thanks for watching. The problem could be so many things I doubt I can help. I would double check that tool tool modification is correct per the video. It seems the problem might be with the tool itself. I have been using the tool for about three years. Even before the patch was made and I never seen it behave that way.

@@patriotsix5880 Getting back to you about not being able to download. Problem solved. I found the latest patch and applied it. I thought that the latest earth2 msfs was already patched but it wasn't. I copied the two files into the directory where the earth2msfs.exe file is and that did it. Thanks again for your help.

@@howiedoohan8039 Can you go to Google Earth and search around? If so, we know the server is accessible to you. The fix may be simple but I have not had any issues with the tool to learn what can go wrong. If it is an SDK issue, I can help with that because I have found a lot of the pitfalls. It is speculation by my instinct tells me to check the tool installation.

@@patriotsix5880 Interesting! I replied two days ago but the comment isn't here. I am able now to download. I thought the latest version of earth2msfs had all the patches in it but that's not the case. I found the latest patch through your videos and copied the two files into the directory with earth2msfs and it took care of the problem. Thank you so much for following up and helping me. It was my fault for not understanding the patch has to be applied for it to work.

There may be videos on YT that explain the process but I have not gone there. As for the lights, they are removable. Could you check to ensure you did not overlook the lights in the deletion section?

A very clear description and deliberate slow instruction! Even still, my head is spinning so I will need to watch slowly in little bits at a time. For FSX I had a third party ‘Instant Scenery’ which was simple to use for me. This is definitely a more in depth method that I will need to master. I want to be able to add a helipad at our own home! Thanks for watching. I guess this video has aged out. However, adding a POI is part of basic scenery building. Once the basics work for you, You can select POI from the objects menu and add. Hi, when I get to the stage to add a runway, I choose the runway number and click add, but nothing appears? Plus all the windows eg project edition etc all seem full height, no way to resize them smaller. Thanks for your help and great tutorials

Thanks for watching. These questions can't be answered in a simple sentence so I will get into some detail. I'll take the easy question first. Yes, the editor windows can be resized. Out of the box, SDK defaults to large panels. You can tick on the top bar of each panel and move the panel down a bit. Once you free the panel from the top locked position on the screen, you can resize the window to your preferred shape and size. I believe the sweet spot on the top is at the panel name. Seeing nothing; when you add a runway, nothing appears. When you add a runway, you will see an outline of a runway with or without a texture along with the runway name in the Scenery Editor. One possibility is the runway is added but out of view. You can tick on the runway in the Scenery Editor to select the runway and adjust your camera perspective to find the runway. Once you find the runway you can move it to the preferred location. If you do not see a runway outline or the runway in the Scenery Editor, I will need to probe deeper and, ask more questions to ensure you have not missed a step. If you see a runway outline, that is good. That means everything is correct. SDK uses additional resources. Your PC specs dictate what you see when building scenery. Textures come and go as you move around. The better the machine, the more you see. Textures disappearing is expected behavior. I hope that helps. Please let me know how it is going.

I’d like to do a grass strip and seaplane base right next to each other. Should I create two separate scenery files or have them as one? I prefer as one but wondering if this was possible

@@ayyyejayjay Oh I love it too. It's sports and banter is healthy and fun. It is difficult in these times to have fun banter because folks get emotional. I loved it here when folks would hate the Pats. The hate was because they were relevant. Now, not so much but the NFL is always changing. It is designed to change quickly. The Pats defeated the odds because of one Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr, You can do it either way. If they are together, I would suggest one file. If they are a distance from each other, I would use two. I do hot have a video that meets your unique desires but I have a video on building a fictional seaplane base, and a video on making grass fields. I also have a video on making fictional airports with multiple runways. So, it is all covered. Here is how I would approach the project. 1. If you do not know the basics, start here. It will save you a lot of time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4mzfWOkZdB0lZY 2. If you are comfortable with the basics, the seaplane base is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGrNiKCaYph-g9E 3. This tutorial will help you with a grass field as well as adding a second runway. The principles are the same even though your geographical area is different and you want to add two unique runway styles. In the example, I added a grass runway and a asphalt runway. Yes. At this time with SDK, it is a complicated process. From what I hear from others it takes a lot of trial and error. I never attempted to build an ILS because making a video using "trial and error " would be hard for people to succeed. Yes it will. There are varios package types. This is scenery and you can make scenery changes to aiports as you see in this video. If you want to make changes to the airport itself, for example, ramps, gates, taxiways, runways, all things associated with the airport operation would require a different method that I show in other videos. As for basic scenery changes, this will work. Make sense?

Once everything loads in the scenery editor, it takes a few minutes, what do you see in the editor? Is it a series of numbers? If so, that is a good sign. If it shows as unknown, that is a bad sign. Developer Mode and editors use a significant amount of resources. Depending on your machine, things may take some time to appear. It is even more taxing if you select a large area with Earth2MSFS. This is the best guesses I can make without seeing what you see.

Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, you can only use vector placement when building an airport. Unless you are building an airport project, fences are manual placement which is time-consuming. Vector placement is not currently an SDK option for standard scenery projects.

You select the taxi path with a left tick. You can right tick and see options. One of the options is add a point. I am sure I performed this task earlier in the video so I wanted to keep the video as short as possible by not repeating myself. The directions above are from memory so if it does not work, let me know and I will open up a package and find the exact way. You can also select any point or node and move it if needed.

With Beyond ATC out now, we have a lot of airfields where the taxiways, runways and gates are wrong. Are you able to do a video on how to edit these items in addon airport packages as well as Asobo titles? Fly Tampa CYYZ for example is all kinds of messed up when it comes to taxiway data. CYUL still includes runway 28 which isn't even on the Jep charts anymore. I'm not looking to change the scenery or make my own folder. Just want to edit these items.

If so, I can show you how to do it but it is a lot of work. @@patriotsix5880 Thanks for the reply. Having watched your videos, I expected it to be time-consuming, so I am prepared. My concern is what happens when there is a new update to let's Fly Tampa CYYZ from the developer? Or an update from Asobo that affect all airport editing processes in the future? Is there a way to troubleshoot these taxiways in the editor and figure out why they don't make sense to BATC? Without creating a new airport. I hope this makes sense.

@@dantican3800 Everything you do will live in the package. This means, with a simple delete, everything is back to normal. So if FlyTampa and Asobo make corrections, you remove the package and you are good to go. FlyTamps is one of the best creators so, I am surprised in the inaccuracy. I have YYZ but I have not noticed any issues because I have not flown in or out of there since I picked up BATC. I do not expect Asobo to make changes. It is amazing what they have already built but I can see how time-consuming it would be to fix every airport worldwide. A lot of the work is from AI. If it was all handbuilt MSFS 2020 would be MSFS 2028 or later. 😁 Here is a quick tutorial of how it works. With all scenery, you have a scenery folder with various XML files, models, textures, etc. Also in the scenery folder is the package. The package is what the sim reads for scenery placement. The packages are in the OneStore folder or the Community folder depending upon the method of purchase. Access to the scenery folder allows you to edit and make changes and make a new package with the changes. But, we do not have the entire scenery folder, we only have the packages and packages cannot be edited. It takes the entire scenery folder to make changes. If I had the complete FlyTampa scenery folder, yes, I could make changes. But as I said, the packages are only editable wit the entire scenery folder. I hope that helps you understand how it works.

@@patriotsix5880 Ok that makes perfect sense now. Truthfully, I don't know if the inaccuracies are on the part of Fly Tampa. The scenery is fantastic which is why I love flying out of that hub. The complexity of the airport could be too much for BATC at this early stage. Regardless, I really appreciate your help. I am creating an airport but MSFS map is very outdated. Is it possible to use this tool to make newest aerial map of the airport?Not the 3d photogrammetry. Just flat map.

Thanks for watching. Let's walk through this. If the airport has 3D photogrammetry, it will be part of the scenery with this tool and I would never recommend using this for an airport. The resolution is good enough to fly over but not good enough up close to make you happy. if this is a small airport out of the way, it is likely the airport does not have photogrammetry. If that is true, then you may be able to get the tiles to work. If may error and not work. It's impossible to know until you try. I have seen this tool pull flat terrain before. Pull the airport up on Google Earth and select 3D to test for photogrammetry. If the buildings are flat, it does not have photogrammetry. If the buildings are 3D, you will see that pretty fast. There is another way but it is convaluted. I will link the video but it looks like a lot of work. Certainly, I use Nvidia Overlay to record and Divici Resolve to edit and finalize. Divinci has all the tools you need for editing but it does not record.

I am not sure. They are in my library but I am not certain if they are part of the Asobo content or from one of the airport mods I have in Florida. It could be KMIA or Orlando international. When I get a chance, I will see if I can find them and let you know. It also could have come from KLAX or KSAN mods.

Okay, I have a lot of palm trees. Some are standard Asobo objects, some are part of my content, the premium deluxe, and some are from payware like KPHX, and other payware airports with plans in the area. Good luck.

Thanks for watching, Pablo. Unfortunately, the grass height is coded into the textures and cannot be edited with SDK. We will see what changes come with the 2024 SDK. There are 3D models of grass that can be purchased but they cost about $100. That is more than I wat to pay for a trial run. Happy building.

Hi Patriot ,i am hoping you can help me with a particular problem i am having with the PMDG 737 Paint kit for MSFS 2020.Sorry in advance if i am asking this in the wrong section. I have read many explanations on how to do this & have tried most of them with no luck. I have completed my paint for the PMDG 737/800 except for one detail > "PMDG 737 VC Registration". This PSD File makes no sense to me at all , in the layer section it has four layers , the ALPHA-Hide B4 save, colour layer, N Number Placard, Black Background. This file changes the virtual cockpits registration plate to your unique Number. If you could do a small video on how to do this, it would be much appreciated as i am not alone in trying to find out how this is done corrrectly. There are a couple of videos on it but they are time lapse video and very hard to follow. Thanks in advance Phill

Hello Phill. Thanks for watching. I do not know how to do liveries. I pay for my own. 🤣 I started to learn but the videos I could find were not very good at the time. One was even at about 3X speed. I am unsure what that accomplishes, but since then, I have not tried again. Perhaps there is something on KZbin that is better than when I tried it.

@@patriotsix5880 Great videos and I did watch both of them. I see you deleted all the taxiways. Many airports have wrong taxiway numbering and/or some of them are not completely connected. Is there a way to to do this?

@@frysimulation I am not 100% clear on the question. Are you asking if there is a way to only change taxiway designators? I'll just assume that is the question unless you tell me otherwise. You would need the entire airport package to edit the taxiways, which is unavailable. There is a way to do it if you can use Blender for 3D modeling. It would take more time unless you are a blender whiz. And then, you will only have an aesthetic change. Instructions from ATC will still refer to incorrect numbers as it is built. Anything you change in an airport package will be recognized correctly by ATC. I hope that helps.

I’m looking to do this, but in Canada, the problem is, that runway markings are striped in Canada. It is not a solid white. It is a bunch of thin lines. So is there a way to change the material of the markings?

It is a good question and I do not know the answer without delving into the build. How are the runways marked in standard Asobo airports? If they are correct to Canadian standards the ability is in the SDK, probably in the options for the taxiway. I recall there are painted line options but I do not remember each option available. Good luck. If I need to hop in and look, I can, but as you know, that is a fairly long process to get to taxiways. I deleted the work I did in the video because it was for the tutorial only.

@@nlhockey286 I am looking at CYUL. I removed the runway so I can see the areal image below. I can duplicate what the original runway looks like by selecting the following paremeters in the runway markings in the propperty window. Edge Markings Threshold Markings Fixed Distance Markings Touchdown Markings and (alternate touchdown markings (Europe) Center Dashed Line Number and designator at the end Leading 0 on single digit numbers (Europe) The remaining options are up to you.

Thanks for watching. I saw a video on KZbin that is probably three years old now where the scenery tiles are pulled in Blender and manipulated. I watched it and decided it was more work than I was willing to do. I don't know if anything newer is on KZbin but you might try Myphysical World. He appears to be very good with Blender. Good luck.

Thanks for watching and I am glad you resolved this issue. In my opinion FlyTampa is the best. I can assure you it was not a FlyTampa issue. I have seen the same issue before in the middle of a runway in a different airport. The Sims AI generates trees. The AI attempts to determine if a tree is needed based on aerial imagery. Sometimes, it misses. That is why you will see misplaced trees on bridges and buildings. However, now that you know how to remove trees, you can get rid of any that are out of place.
