Great Job Dave. Keep up the good work. Sometimes height is not best the best alternative, reflections and all. RF signals are weird sometimes

Medford viewer here. Maybe you have an idea about a problem I'm facing: I'm trying to determine where a certain coaxial cable in my house goes inside the wall. Using a tone and probe on it shows that the other end comes out in a closet nearby, with a clear loud ringing from the tone and probe tool, but checking for continuity using those two cable ends shows nothing. Why would tone and probe signal so clearly when there's no continuity?

Maybe there's a break and it works as a 'leaky feeder'.

I'm wondering if you have a splitter that allows RF from your toner to pass by not DC.

The first time I heard about "lower is better" is when my unofficial step father told me about when he got frustrated installing his TV ant in the mid 1980's. He threw it off the roof, it stuck in the ground and got channels better than any ant he had ever used. It staid in the ground there for years. The second time I heard about that method is when people used to dig holes, down to 100 feet deep if I recall, to conceal ant from the enemy in WWII. Apparently it worked just as well as an ant up in the air.

is there no iptv to receive this 2 channels? is internet so bad in the us?
@waltschannel746521 сағат бұрын
In remote areas it can be difficult to get internet service at a reasonable cost. Then you have to have a device that receives the channels and you have to pay for the channels. Free over-the-air TV is the cheapest way to receive it if you've got someone with skills available to you like this gentleman that can help you sort out which way to orient the antenna.

Strange thought about adding extra channels...I got a switch taking "off line "the unwanted to tune in the special channels. This by passing any need for a mixer. Ie. Dickson/Nashville....switch ..5 other channels come in with out confusion. The second Beeing pointed in that direction

I built several 2-dollar radiation detectors for an elementary school STEM fair based on your KZbin videos. Thank you for the excellent videos. I am only getting the detector for the 146.520 MHz ham radio frequency to light up. I believe that my diodes and soldering are good. I wonder if I need to buy more sensitive LEDs that won’t require as much field strength to the antenna to light up. How can I specify a more sensitive LED?
@GrantsPassTVRepair2 күн бұрын
I noticed many of the diodes being sold as the 1SS86 are not made by Hitachi, and they are not able to operate at the higher frequencies such as your microwave and WiFi modem frequencies produce. The 1SS86 diode made by Hitachi has an H printed on it. The 1N5711 also works for this project, but it's not as sensitive as the 1SS86

I’ve seen a couple videos on isolation systems. In both, it talks about ground referenced systems being unsafe cuz you can get shocked touching the hot. Makes me have 3 questions; 1) Why do we have ground references systems then in north America ? 2) If the load is on and current is flowing and a parallel path is created thru ground via us, wouldn’t the shock not be that bad since we are a lot higher resistance than the neutral wire thru which the current is also flowing? 3) Given my second point, I would think the only real danger with a ground reference system is when a hot wire is sticking out and isn’t sending current anywhere and load is on - so you don’t become a parallel path you become the full path and you take a higher current. Right?

Sorry but I don't understand any more than what I described in this video.

In this video you show us that you unplug the ribbon between the main board and power supply but dont say which one is the problem. Only that you order another main board from shop jimmy. I can only assume that the power supply is ok and the main board is shot. No confirmed results in your video.

How Much Power Do Your Phones WASTE? Most Open Source software is NOT Open Source. However, some is. The Source for the Apple 2 or 1985's Nintendo NES is Open Source. So is SIP. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT WORKS AND WHAT DOESN'T. 3CX OR ASTERIX IS NOT OPEN SOURCE. THESE ARE MORE THAN AN OFFICE SIP SERVER. THEY'RE CALL CENTRE SOFTWARE. E.G. YOU RING A CALL CENTRE AND YOUR PLACED IN A QUEUE AND THEN AN OPERATOR DEALS WITH YOUR CALL. There's Simpler GNU SIP Software THAT IS OPEN SOURCE. However, thats for Only Office Phones. So that Your Employees Can Talk to Each Other. How Much Power Do Your Phones WASTE?

Honestly unless the person is mentally impaired it's not going to feel anyone., The thing with lasers is that you can see the beam quite easily. Especially in fog or rain storms. Until we can create lasers with the only area that shows the points anyone who sees shooting a beam a light into the sky who was a rational person will not think this is a UFO. Try harder next time :-)
