SCCY's best models are the CPX series. They're very reliable DAO pistols but they are hammer-fired and have a heavier trigger with longer travel as a result, and that's most people's biggest complaint about them. I don't find it to be all that heavy at around 9lbs, still lighter than most DAO revolvers, but some people with weak or arthritic hands might. My wife carried and regularly practiced with one and she had no problems being able to operate it, nor did she ever have any reliability issues with it. I ended up building her a custom Glock 26 clone but she really liked the SCCY while she had it and so did I. It ran like a champ straight out of the box, which is more than I can say about the 26, as I ended up having to put a better spring kit and upper components in it to get it to run reliably.

Because of the fixed barrel...the Hi Point is also surprisingly accurate.

I would sport the goofy colored guns like green and purple ! Because iv had people try and say i pulled a gun on them and luckly they were dumb and told them i pulled the hammer back but that saved me since it had no hammer ! But i feel the odds of someone guessing my carry gun was green with a purple slide is astronomical!

The price is more expensive than 9mm and you really don't get much in the way of advantage. 9mm is effective enough for anti-personnel purposes. It also depends on what you shoot better.

I dont own a highpoint.. but I do appreciate their existence. They're cheap and I hear they're reliable. So, technically, anyone and everyone can arm themselves.

In all fairness, the glitter gun does fire more often than the Low-Point, so it wins by default. We'll see if the HP still works? It needs to work to begin with.

My SCCY CPX2 is hammer fired and I have NEVER had a light primer strike. The striker fired Sccy does have an issue in that respect from all I have read about it. Sccy has a lifetime warranty as well. send it back see if they fix the problem and report back .

I have an older C9. I have 2 mags for it and it has never failed. I don't use it in the mud however! I was dead set against it, but it was a gift. I think they are ugly also, but very reliable with a good mag. I almost hate to say it, but it is accurate. Do not forget the lifetime warranty!

My father had purchased a SCCY - CPX-1 I think it was called at the time, and had a few concerns with it, I took it one day and deburred all metal in the fire control group and polished the rails. After that it ate and fired everything he fed it, he even used it to replace his everyday Glock 17 carry with it

I think the hi point had a mag issue. If the video is in the correct order you performed the tests, the HP didn't have a problem until you chucked it. I wouldn't own either unless I had to.

I agree with your assessment on that first malfunction. It looks like it was caused by the bulky/grippy gloves. Both thumbs were on the slide and the grip on the gloves kept the slide from moving forward. Where your thumbs would naturally lie on most pistols is part of the slide on hi points; their slides extend further down.

Well now this is a interesting video and not so interesting pistols. I personally would not own either or trust my life to either. I always thought that the high point would serve better as a door stop. After all, how could you make a uglier pistol? I realize that the price is low on both of those pistols, but still it just looks like high point could make a more modern designed firearm.

Have both cause why not lol, have to say must be lucky cause my SCY works prob about 300-400 rds in it. The Hi Point as ugly, awkward, and bulky as it is always works, I have it for bout 5 yrs., between myself, my friends, and who ever wants to shoot it have over 1000 rds in that one.

Guys simply like to bitch and complain and shit talk anything they can because it makes them feel superior. If it’s not brand X then it’s garbage and they are simply above it all, superior to the rest of the dregs. I have a Glock 21 and hear shit talk because it’s a Glock and it’s a .45 and not a 9mil. It’s usually the most simple minded that shit talk.

It is kinda fucked in a way that this block of wood of a handgun that you can pick up used for $99 beans and it runs better and is more reliable then $1000+ bean handguns. And the said company has the balls to tell it's just a break in period and you have to run hotter ammo through it even tho you have 500 rounds through it and 200 of them were +p+

The sccy is definitely a POS. I bought one a couple years ago just because it was so cheap. I have never had a light primer strike with mine. The only issue I had with mine is it won't fire until you let off the trigger. Pretty unsafe pistol. Pull the trigger and nothing happens, let off and it fires.
