I have the LG 55C2 (6423 hours), LG 48A2, LG 48B4, and Skyworth 65XC9300. My C2 is used for gaming and movie watching as well as youtube, and there is no burnin at the moment. Just wanted to give some insight about what I have in my home at the moment. My wife has Sony 55A80K that she uses for gaming and movie consumption. She purchased another 48A2 for one of our guess bedrooms.

Try taking your tv out of energy saving mode. Adjust the OLED Pixel Brightness down to zero. Also, turn the Peak Brightness Off. See if this works for you.

bad title, you railed on the remote and UI had nothing to do with oled tech. awful

The title says nothing about “oled tech”, it just says “I hate my oled tv… kinda”. The remote and ux/ui can cause me to hate it because it quite literally comes with the tv lol. This is also why I said “kinda” because as you can see in the description I said it’s a beautiful display but just not the best experience I’ve had in comparison to other TV’s

oled is terrible, all oleds burn in, its literally a matter of time and the opposite of what fanboys say, newer oleds burn in more. i wouldnt buy oled if youre a gamer

@@cryengine_x "terrible" yet didn't say details. I have 2 oleds, c9 and cx from years ago, no burn in. Kid plays games for hours daily on his and no burn in. I play games on mine too. How would new tv's be worse when they haven't been used long enough to get burn in. I guess you can abuse oleds, leave them on news all day so yes I do turn mine of now instead of leaving it on all day. I love the true blacks, I grew up with lcd tech and blooming and light bleed. most reasonable people rarely make "all" statements and leave some room to humble have some wiggle room. Rtings and many other independent sites have reviewed the heck out oled burn and it's rare. Love the infinite contrast, instant pixel response in games and movies.

@@trauma50disaster1 yeah u do have burn in lol youre just too dumb to know...anyways i play destiny the worst game for burn in due to yellow super bar. gamers should not buy oled...especially when top led sets are in many ways better now

I agree with the remote. My biggest gripe (I have a 77 C1 and 48 C2) is the tv will sometimes turn off by itself when I'm watching something. It can happen like after 2-3 hours. It might have to do with the AppleTV, as I didnt notice it when I use the Shield, but I turned off all power saving shutoff features on both but it happens randomly. Its not like the Apple TV turns off, its the TV. And normally when the TV doesnt detect input it switches to a screensaver and then turns off after like 10 mins, so this is almost like someone hit the power button, as I see the LG logo when it turns off. Its so annoying because I normally dont use the TV remote, just the streaming box remote to turn it on and off, so then I have to find it. Its enough of a hassle that I'm not sure I want another LG TV again, even though I have two (C1 and C2). Its a decent TV for image quality but its just annoying to live with day to day.

Try putting your 48 inch OLED next to a 50 inch non-oled and play the same content on both at the same time. Then, look at the differences.

Bar the remote, these are all things that would be similar problems with other brands and other panel types and can be solved by just not using the tv's onboard apps. Use an apple tv or console or Roku stick or something and you will be fine.

The brightness on the tv can be beacuse of your Tv switching from HDR mode when you watch videos to SDR in the menu. The Tv has different settings for SDR, HDR and Dolby.

Preach bro... I want TV remotes to have buttons for immediate adjustment of "brightness", "contrast" and/or "gamma". The buttons must have the option to be disabled so that family men won't complain that their wife and kids will mess up the TV. (Or supply TVs with 2 remotes OR optional remotes: simple and expert.) I put brightness, contrast and gamma in quotes cause manufacturers unfortunately have the freedom to use these terms ANY WAY THEY WANT, so for many decades these controls differ and and change between brands and iterations of TVs. We get abominations like "contrast button adjusts brightness and brightness button adjusts contrast". Don't get me started on buttons labeled "Picture". I WANT BUTTONS for brightness presets AND granular adjustment ON THE REMOTE. -GIMME. --- SAID ANOTHER WAY: I adjust the overall brightness of my TV several times a day. Many do the same. Please Reduce the number of button presses needed for this. THE GOAL is for the viewer to get the desired luminance WITH ONE BUTTON PUSH. Give a rocker labeled "Brightness, Luminance, or Picture" so the viewer HAS A CHANCE to get his new desired luminance WITH ONE BUTTON PUSH. This rocker should adjust brightness, contrast and gamma using defined curves. User should be able to pre-select from a variety of curves. User should be able to preset the number of rocker increments from say 5 to 20 or 30. User should be able to preset the speed of the rocker's adjustments. DELUXE VERSION: Also give 2 or 3 additional rockers for fine adjustment of Brightness, Contrast and/or Gamma after using the preset rocker to get close. Please TV makers, give us this either on the main remote or an optional expert remote.
