FX3 vs FX30... Worth Double the Price?

I agree the fx30 is amazing even in low light. Of course it will be slightly noisier but with technology these days that’s not as big of a deal anymore. It’s def worth the price for an entry level cinema cam.

I badly wanted the FX3, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $4,000 on it. The ZV-E1 was a more affordable option with the same sensor. I don't typically do large-scale professional shoots, so the grip complaints about the ZV-E1 weren't a problem for me. When paired with my A7Cii, I'm thoroughly pleased with the combination.

Good stuff sir, both cameras are beasts! I kinda found a budget work around. I got the fx30 as my main camera and then the ZVE1 to handle extreme low light or any 4k 120 I may need. I added a cage and fan to the zve1 which conservatively gives me 90% functionality of the fx3 while still saving 2k. I do miss shutter angle, 2 sd card slots and full size hdmi. My first choice would be the fx3 but almost 4k is a lot, my business partner got an fx3 and I was able to use it for a bit it’s definitely nice but like you said I don’t think it’s worth double of the fx30. Well again good stuff sir looking forward to seeing more of your content.

People just always hate on crop just to have talking points for their channels and content. Most people won’t know or be able to tell outside of just lowlight situations.

Agreed. I have the FX30 and if you're lighting things, there are absolutely no differences between 3 and 30. Now I've been doing some weddings, I'd like the 3, as it will be beneficial to have it in my arsenal for those low light situations

I want to upgrade from my ZVE-10, thinking FX30, I’m doing low-mid level work right now, don’t think I’ve earned the FX3 yet. Will use my ZVE-10 as a B-cam. Would be my first. What u think?

The fx30 is amazing. It has a way better workflow, no overheating, better sensor. And when you eventually decide to go for fx3 you will already know how to use it since they are the same body.
