Turn windage front for right and back for left. For elevation turn right for up and left for down. To turn it on, take battery out for about 10 seconds and put it back in. Problems solved. There are no brightness settings, they come as they are.
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 25 күн бұрын
The setting for windage and elevation would not change in any direction... and it was just stupid of the them not mark what direction to turn the adjustments to begin with! It wasn't worth my money or effort. It was a cheap piece of Chinese trash as far as I am concerned. So it was returned for a refund and I got a Bushnell TRS25 to replace it. The directions are clearly marked and they work as they should on the Bushnell. They may make decent lasers for pistols but they don't have a clue how to make a red dot that works. I will NEVER EVER waste my hard earned money with them again.

@papasplace2 I might have to get me one of those then. I'm not sure why windage and elevation would change because mine does but yeah it does suck they're not marked.

The only thing that was ever wrong about small primer 45acp brass was when not many new they existed and there were more then a few primers that scared the heck out of people. Back when I made this video it was just to let people know that there were small primer 45acp brass out there and to make sure they double checked any range brass they picked up. Nothing wrong with small primer 45acp brass... like you I wish I had more of it right now because small primers are more available and cost less then then large primers these day.

@papasplace2 2 ай бұрын
I agree it's no big deal.. if you even know that there is small primer brass out there that you need to separate... but at the time this video was done there was very little if any information out there... that is why I did the video. Federal isn't the only one that is using small primer 45acp cases. There is a pinned comment on using a 3/16 punch to verify which pocket is which quickly and easily for those that have a tough time telling the difference.

I've read one comment that mentioned enlarging the M4 feed ramps to allow use of the less sharply pointed .30 cal bullets. Since I bought my 300 upper with the intent to use the various bullets I cast for my other .30/31 revolvers & rifles, that seems like something I might "need". Cast & coated lighter-weight bullets are way more affordable than jacketed 150s and up, and generally have more of a blunt nose shape. This carbine will be used to transition some of my grandkids from rimfires into centerfire shooting, and that's why I intend to use that group of bullets more than the heavier, pointier type. I do have a good supply of 110 gr ZMAX and 150 semi-point plated bullets, but I'm a cheapskate and I know my students are gonna want to put a lot of rounds downrange. I'm starting to wish I would've saved up for a bolt rifle instead of snapping at the more affordable AR upper. I'd like your opinion regarding this issue. Thanks.
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 2 ай бұрын
If you can compare your 300blk next to a 556 upper looking at the feed ramps...you will see that the feed ramps on the 300 are wider... they have been coming that way for years now. Back in the very beginning they were using 556 feed ramps but that practice stopped not to long(within months) after the cartridge was introduce... needing to widen the feed ramps is just more internet foolishness IMHO.

@@papasplace2 Thanks. One reason I was wondering was because when I tried to chamber my first dummy round (Lee 120 gr RF) the teeth of the locking lugs left two big gashes on the ogive...
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 2 ай бұрын
@@edbecka233 You don't usually see people trying to shoot round flat nose bullets in an AR. A bolt rifle no problem... in a semi auto rifle like the AR you want to use as pointed a bullet as you can get.. it makes loading the rounds so much easier and reliable. The lee 312 150 and 160 bullets sized to the correct diameter work very well for a lot of people. I know a guy that casts in zinc and loves them for his AR. One of the major drawbacks to widening the feed ramps is that you weaken the locking lugs and that could be disastrous!

@@papasplace2 My son and I are saving up for a bolt gun, but I couldn't resist jumping on this $200 upper. I own all the Lee .30s except the two 312 AK designs and the boattail heavy, but I guess I'll have to order one or the other. I wasn't gonna eliminate any lugs, just try to contour/polish the ramps a bit. This upper won't have any frame stretchers shot through it. Been loading since '75 and got the cylinder crackers outta my system early on. Also thinkin about sellin off my 450 BM upper and get a bolt gun there, too, and choose a bolt over a semi for the .7.62X39 as well, bcz I can't get the 450 to cycle, but after reading your info on the .300 being chronically undergassed, before I get rid of the .450 I'll replace the original gas block and maybe ream the gas port in the barrel...

@@edbecka233 I have heard and seen a lot of people that have a very tough time getting the boat tail heavy to shoot well... I would highly recommend the 150 or the 160 7.63x39 bullets.. they both shoot well.

I've been bitching about this for years. I'm glad they finally listened. I'm real tired of adapting the .32-20 plugs to .30 & .31 rifle cartridges. Having hell as we speak trying to shoot cast/pc bullets in the .330 BO.

Can you take out that dome thing and put in a sizing and decapping die. And size with that press too??
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 2 ай бұрын
Yep. You just need one of Lee's Breech Locks to mount the die in. I wouldn't size anything larger then 223/300blk rifle brass... but any pistol brass works fine... oh and it wouldn't hurt to lube that cases even with carbide dies... it just makes the job easier and faster.

I guess that even that thing will not check the primer to make sure it is seated far enough. I have had some trouble with primers since I have had to use some of the cheap primers that are all I can get now. If the primer is not seated far enough into the case, it will not fit into my chamber primarily on my Swedish M 96 6.5 x 55 Mauser. Have not had any trouble yet on my other rifles except maybe on my Swiss k-31 which is very sensitive to bullets. If they are not just right it will not fire them even if you can chamber them,

Just got one for 30 and love it. The fact the ram is the same as Pacific, CH, Bair and all the other old C frames is awesome! Sucks RCBS doesn't sell what they called the "c ram adapter anymore" those RCBS rams were like 15 bucks now you can't find one in stock!! Because at worst you'll find a RCBS, CH or any other old cast iron press that's seized and has a severely pitted / rusted ram but just swap it and you're good to go!
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 3 ай бұрын
Nice find! I love mine and wouldn't trade it for the world. It is getting hard to find parts for these... I would highly suggest that you contact RCBS and get a couple extra wave washers as they provide just enough tension to keep the handle from falling down and they do wear. Take care

Further word of caution: a rimless laser cartridge is NOT a snap cap. I found this out the hard way after 86K+ dry fire trigger pulls (Mantis laser academy keeps count of your trigger pulls). I’ve decided on the strategy of treating the roll pin as an expendable item and buying them in bulk.

I like it but why so much wobble in the tools ?
@papasplace2
@papasplace2 3 ай бұрын
It isn't a hard wobble it goes away when there is pressure on the tool. It is due to the slop in my tolerances of the fittings. It's like a floating bolt head..things just line up when a little bit of pressure is applied. If I glued the tool holder (it has a hex shaped female end that slides onto a male hex shape on the axle) to the axle it would go away... but I want to be able to pull the tools out easily and change them as I need. For Chamfer and deburring it is fine. The Lee case trimmer holds the cases in line very securely between the case mouth and the primer flash hole so the wobble doesn't really matter especially with pistol cases... it will still cut then very square.
