re Johnstone straits and the 49er's....NO they did not come up the inside because of Ripple Rock and the severe tide rips....they all went up the west coast...none of the ships of that time had the power to run Seymour Narrows....in fact, most were sailing ships with no power at all...

Do you need permission to detect there? I am heading to Comox next week and will be metal detecting for the first time ever, would love to find a place to go TIA

Too bad you didn't/couldn't mention the exact location along the line? Is it near mile 20? Maybe closer to Duncan?

Glad you enjoyed it!, I checked out your channel. Very cool free diving. My good friend in Campbell River is big into that too. I bet you could find some pretty interesting things down there if you got ahold of a metal detector.

@@TYEEHUNTER Thanks man! Yeah, I love freediving but treasure hunting has always been up my alley too. I found your channel trying to research bottle dumps. Stanley park has been on my list for a while. I'm considering buying an underwater metal detector but apparently they are hard to use while holding your breath and unless you invest some decent money, the cheaper ones don't last long. We'll see! Not sure about cross borders, but Lily Point in Point Roberts would be a cool spot for you to check out. I found a silver pocket watch in shallow water from the late 1800's. Unfortunately it had no family names engraved so I couldn't do much research from there but I left it with the historical society. I was surprised to find it, it would have been above water on a low tide.

Your video is so awesome. In the early 60's my father, Stanley Lowrey was stationed as Forestry Ranger in that exact spot. I have a picture of myself, sister, mother and my dad on that same forestry boat you show. I was to young to remember but your video great watch and all the coins and badge you found is pretty cool Wendy Lowrey

Bro I have been metal detecting for a awhile and have had a few good machines. I always see people not sweeping like they should. Your in the top 10 percent! I have taken the same metal detector to the same spot I thought I hunted out and just went super slow and found the best finds of my life. I hunted in all metal mode and went very, very slow. Diamond ring, 4 silver coins, and a gold locket. All with an ace 250. Then I bought an at pro and found even more.
