I'll be honest, I haven't watched a single minute of season 2. In fact, I intend not to. I loath the first season in part so much that I have only had surface glance at the reviews and breakdowns of it. It sounds absolutely horrific and I plan on never seeing a minute of it. I am sure there are some nice parts here and there as there were in season 1, but I'm making a stand for my own sake. I won't stand for this idiocy they're selling. Sorry you have to watch it.

Their inclusion of Tom Bombadil is a quintessential example of how The Rings of Power show runners are all about pure exploitation of Tolkien without any real understanding of Tolkien's writings or his characters, just wrong on so many levels. Always love how you folks at The One Ring are always about Tolkien authentically, like all true Tolkien fans, and I love you for it! 🧙‍♂🌟

The whole thing with Gandalf having to use his heart to find his staff amongst a bunch of potential staffs just seems like a copy of a plot point from the anime Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War, where Ichigo (the main character) has to use his heart to find his true sword amongst a bunch of potential swords (and in the process learns about himself). Both Bleach and RoP even have the same shot where the characters are overlooking their field of options.

I cannot STAND IT when they take actual lines and/or scenes from the LOTR trilogy and put it in this travesty of a show. Then it's like they're saying in some weird, twisted way, "Oh, actually, our characters said/did it first, thousands of years before. So Tolkien must have just been copying us." I also want to scream at the way they take good, pure things and characters and twist them into evil villains, and take villains and try to make us sympathize with them. Tolkien would be so angry and disgusted at what they're trying to do to his world and characters.

Holy Smoke, Andromeda was going to be sacrificed to the Kraken, not the Gorgon (Medusa)! You've said that twice now! Let loose the Kraken on yer head! Seriously, though, you're really gonna freak when they reveal Anarion as the son of Elendil and ... Miriel, probably in Season 3. The wanton destruction of Tolkien's works isn't even halfway done yet. There's so much more to come!

Names associated with the Hobbits generally follow English spelling rules, because they are all "translated", such as, the Shire < Sûzat, Frodo < Maura, Samwise < Banazîr, Sam < Ban, ... finally smial < trân. Therefore smial = smile.

What if Not-Gandalf is actually Radagast and they’re planning a fake out? Bom Tombadil’s perversion of Gandalf’s line would actually make sense then. Radagast cared more about nature and less about intervening in the lives of Mortal Men, and so far all his powers have been nature centric.

30:15 Actually "smial" should be pronounced like English "smile". It's not from Elvish, Dwarvish, or other alien languages. It's a pseudo-descendent of Old English "smygel", therefore its pronunciation should parallel modern English "tile" < Old English "tygel/tigel". *Tolkien even gave "smile" as an alternate spelling of "smial" in the Appendices. This show never ceases to disappoint, just when you think, well at least they hired somewhat competent Tolkien linguists.

Put your axe into it. Why was mining Mithril so dangerous in season 1 again? How does the ring make it safer? I liked the dwarf singer idea and thought it made total sense within Tolkien’s lore. It was actually a good addition. Summoning bats was maybe the opposite of that lol.

This series is true art. Not only the further dismantling of not only Tolkien stories, but further twisting of Tolkien morals. And they even further ruined Star Wars, which is already struggling enough and totally lives from the past (in this franchise, the latest additions called canon are also twisting the intentions from its creator). Regarding Ringwraiths: two other strong contenders IMO are Theo - and Adar (yes, Adar is no man. But who cares?). Adar might even become the Witchking of Angmar.

I still can't believe some Tolkien channels here on KZbin actually like this show and have given some episodes a 9/10 😂 i mean what the actual shit is that then their are others like Council of The Rings who is like you guys and myself more of a Tolkien purist and the show broke him 5 episodes in that he said he can't continue to watch ig anymore 😂. The bat scene fixed: Disa and Durin force 50 royal guard to block the mine. The king goes down to the mine for an audience, with an equal army, basically sentencing them all to death as this is treason. As tension rises and comes to a crescendo, and they are about to kill each other suddenly everyone gets utterly shocked by an enormous bellowing roar that Disa heard earlier. The king looks to his ring and sees nothing. The king is breaking down as he feels he's deceived by his ring of power. As the armies start to panic and get confused the King isn't making any decisions, Disa takes charge and orders all guards back to corridors, orders an emergency call. Durin tries to save his dad in the chaos but he's actively working against him. Eventually Durin gives up and he runs after the guards, but slowly he realizes he cannot leave his dad to die. As he looks back he sees a shade dissapear into the mines, his dad went TOWARD the roar and glow. He goes into pursuit but the glow dims, the cave is pitch black again. Eventually he saves his dad as the balrog passed by without being shown. When they get back to the corridors they realize the Balrog massacred many dwarfs and Disa is still alive but heavily injured, and so on and so on. It's so freaking easy to write something epic/cool for LOTR. If they want to scale down budget, use dupe manipulation, CG dwarves, or decrease the amount of army.

I watch your show only. So that I laugh a lot. I cannot watch the amazon's mockery show anymore. I'll cry. I am a big fan Tolkien. My concern is who gave these fools right to twist Tolkien's beloved story. It is a big crime, no?

I suspect that Bombadil's final message to the stranger was actually a purity test. In the end he will choose to look for Nori. I suspect he'll get get his staff from the stoor tree, not the place Bombadil showed him. That said... why test him? The wizards already existed as beings before coming to middle earth, the whole soul searching thing isn't necessary. He should already have a clear mission and values upon arrival.

There's another Tolkien channel (Council of the Rings) that rips apart the show, and he was mentioning the crying too. In every episode, there is at least 1-2 males crying about their problems. I never noticed it until he brought it up, now it drives me insane
