Twenty years ago, terrorists attacked Urumqi. They tried to split Xinjiang. A lot of people died that year. Many people were studying, working, or even playing games in Internet cafes. Suddenly, thugs rushed in and started killing people indiscriminately. Then China strengthened the security management in Xinjiang, so you will encounter a lot of security checks to prevent people from bringing weapons to densely populated areas. There are more police cars than in other places. But over the years, everything has returned to calm. There have been no more terrorist attacks. On the contrary, the local economy has made great progress. The police arrested many terrorists, but many of them were supported by the West. They fled to the West, and then the West began to slander China for committing genocide. They have been slandering China for many years. Many Han people died in that massacre, and many Uyghurs in Urumqi also sacrificed their lives to protect their Han compatriots.

I've seen some pakistan vloggers attend prayer in various mosques in china including xinjiang. I believe this policy was in response to the extremist activity before, and were determined to be organized in some some mosques. in case you didn't know, this is why facebook is banned in china, because attacks were organized on facebook and the company didn't want to hand over account information when the chinese government requested it. about this time is when china got very strict on internet and companies that didn't want to follow guidelines weren't allowed to operate. google and hence youtube had a choice but decided on principle to leave china because they didn't want any filters on their platforms. other companies like apple and microsoft(bing search) work fine without vpn since they follow the filter guidelines which mostly target adult content, violence, and what 'destabilizing' activities so make of that what you will. people can protest to the extent it doesn't cause a public disturbance. people have freedom of religion, but they can't impose their beliefs on others so preaching in public is not allowed. this might surprise you but there are close to 100 million christians in china. just don't be a public menace and you're fine.

No Muslim country in the world believes that China is committing genocide in Xinjiang. Only the United States and its allies are fabricating rumors, especially the Five Eyes countries.

You dont even know how perfect the timing of your video is 😢 I was feeling so down about my Chinese ethnicity from all the negative press (one of the reporters even compared us to aninals in a zoo because apparently we werent capable of empathy under the ccp) and I saw this and my mood immediately improved. We all know how the CCP treats its own people. Xinjiang is not different. Show us the uncensored rural areas of Xinjiang
@merrick64846 ай бұрын
You knows nothing about how people were treated in China, its not N. Korea. Yes, you should visit the rural areas in Xinjiang, might be even a bigger surprise for Westerners. CPC promote urbanisation in Xinjiang, so local government build each family an apartment in towns and cities, for FREE. And there will be schools and hospitals and public service. You can rent out your new apartment in town, or for your own stay, and everyone can keep your old houses in the hills and country side if they want to. The best way to counter "Religious Extremists" in China is to build the infrastructure and make them RICH. Simple.

1:08 China spreads out to five time zones but all follow Beijing time. Urmuqi is 2 hours behind Beijing. 8pm there is 6pm in Beijing.

Urumqi is 2 hours behind Beijing: so 6pm in Urumqi is equivalent to 8pm in Beijing; and 8pm in Urumqi is equivalent to 10pm in Beijing. but all time zones in China follow Beijing time, so 8pm in Urumqi is 8pm in Beijing (The sky won't lie; it reflects the actual time, which is six o'clock.)

the official time for the whole of China is Beijing time (GMT+8) but actually Xinjiang is 2 hours "earlier" given it's located on the far west and so people there are more used to Xinjiang local time (GMT+6) for daily rountines.

This is the debate right there, personal freedom/safety. It seems we can't have both; but for me - an elderly 'foreigner' living in Hong Kong I know I'm not sad to give up some of the so-called freedoms the West has to offer to be able to be out and about even when it's late. However NOT everyone agrees, which is fine.
@byakuya36037 ай бұрын
In fact, western empires don't want China people to live a happy life, so they have no excuse to interfere in other countries' internal affairs. Sadly, western media helped spread false information.

@lagrangewei7 ай бұрын
i heard alot of retired HK people move to China for cheaper standard of living... they could rent out their apartment in HK, and rent an apartment in China and still have enough for living expenses... they may curse at the government from time to time, as we all do.... but no one is going to deny living in Asia is not as bad as the media make it sound...

Safety is the basis of real freedom. As a non criminal, I love the presence of surveillance and police presence. Living in country where my government does not invest in safety, whenever I need a police there are none to be found and the thieves is having a field day in my country. Well done China for investing in safety. I understand that Xinjiang has many trouble maker from neighboring region funded by the obvious satanic player. I’m sure all of us can guess who funds those atrocities. The same player will cry foul when their plans has been stopped
