Interestingly, it seems a lot of negative comments come from people who do not know how to handle either an automatic watch especially a diver or cannot adjust the bracelet correctly. I guess that is an issue with cheaper watches, not because the watches are cheap but because a lot of the buyers do not know how to treat these watches properly.

My first watch was a Timex. I got it for my seventh birthday in 1969. It had a blue dial with gold Roman numerals. I loved it.

My uncle told me about the service method they used back in the day. The fluid in question was the very volatile stuff used for Zippo lighters. It would have penetrated into all the tiny spaces and evaporated very well. After giving it a swish in pure solvent the process was repeated with clean fluid with a couple drops of thin oil added.

I wear my Doxa Professional swimming in the ocean. That’s about it. Most of my watches are 200 meters, so I wouldn’t worry. I’m not a diver but wear most of my watches in the water. I Casio Duro does just fine

My Dad was one of the engineers who designed the mechanical Time watch movement. He introduced some of the industrial features which reduced friction and eliminated the need for jeweled bearings, and greatly simplified assembly. The ruggedness possible without jewel bearings was a major contributor to the success of that watch.

Get a Circula titanium diving watch hardened to 1200 Vickers with special coating and 500m water resistance for around 1000 Euro or a Sinn U50 or UX diving watch or EZM 3 if you need extra antimagnetic (100 mT) and temperature resistance (-45°C - 80°C). It think all of these watches can withstand a beating with a plastic hammer.

I really appreciate the fact you actually took a diver into the ocean. I think that’s a first for any diver review I’ve watched lol

Timex was designed and manufactured for the average person whom one second a day or even an hour meaning one would have to reset their watch once a day or week wasn't an issue vs the cost of a watch which only had to be in the earilest of day's, resetting once a month. Just as Mr. Ford made the auto available for the general public could afford and offered it in any color as long as one choice was black.

I like invicta but the Grand Diver is a better model. Its like the pro diver but on steroids and water resistant to 1000 feet. I love my Grand Diver 3046 GD. It's always on my wrist. Low IQ people should stay away from owning one because they'll just end up breaking it. We who like automatics, know what we're doing when buying one.

Fabulous!!! I own four: two manual wind 2409, one automatic 2415 just like yours in this vid, and one Neptunus with 2416 movement (no date). All feature stainless steel case.

Over saturation of the brand Timex. I still have my Timex my mom bought me in the 60’s. I prefer an old funky Swiss Army watch with big numbers. I have like 3 of them. I had a beautiful gold Rolex Chronograph in the 70’s but hated people ogling it all the time.

I've got expensive watches...my most dependable watch is a little brown plastic timex watch I got for 2 bucks in a thrift store. it keeps perfect time and only needs a battery about every 5 years.

The same people that collect Ingersol dollar type watches are attracted to Timex. They had no jewels so when they stopped, they were probably worn out!

The reason being is they are disposable you can't fix them they are riveted together and glued myself I have an old Micky Mouse watch from 1967 that was given to me for my Birthday. I hardly ever used it's a Timex wind-up it failed about 20+ years ago I went to every watch repair I could find even called Time Canada and they wouldn't touch it then I found out how they were assessed you cannot take them apart you have to break them to get them apart... I'll never buy another Timex again

When I was young Timex was all I could afford, they were very cheap and had no jewels in them and told the time approximately, put it right every day by the pips on the BBC news. I've still got the last one, which I've repaired, when you get it to bits you realise why they didn't tell the time very well. Good for the price but horrible in absolute terms. I won't be buying another.

Having ourselves drigged and the watch and electronics stolen is something horrible but still having our eyes, or kidneys, testicles removed is horrible. These are really valuable organs. No joke but don't drink or eat anything strangers offer. Sometimes its best to prepare our own juice and stuff as much as possible ehile enjoying the exotic or stuff that is unique to the place in question that is visited.

They were inexpensive watches. Much much cheaper. A nine year old could afford one and they (me) did break them. Everything about them was low cost. They filled a need.

Cheap, but they tell time... what more do you need from a watch. I guess some folks think they are buying status by spending allot on a watch.

Back in the 80 while working on my parents farm my brother and I found a Timex watch that someone had lost. The band was missing, the face was scratched, and it was caked with mud but it was still running and keeping time. That was totally impressive.

The AK-47 and SKS, while bing somewhat crudely machined, are both quire durable and reasonably accurate battle rifles. Both are still in service in many countries all over the world today. The AK-47 being in high demand for its superior power and reliability over AR15 type of rifels. Great Video!
