(In case you're interested in the explanation of the blurple lights: red and blue are the only wavelengths plants actually use. The blurple bulbs use less voltage than full-spectrum ones, so on an industrial scale they do save on energy. No need providing the full spectrum if plants don't need or use it anyway.)

I've had a bad experience being sold runt carlas. I think it's important as a breeder to get rid of runts. It makes you a responsible breeder with good intentions for the customer and the plant species.🥰

i think it's fine for people to charge what they want/what people are willing to pay for seedlings and selves as long as everyone involved understands that it is a gamble on how much it will look like the parent plant and what traits it's going to have (and I say that as someone who cannot afford the vast majority of anthurium prices ).

I think the question about "seedling prices", "grower's choice" and "informed buyers" can be answered if we remedy the lack of transparency and traceability. And that lack of transparency has been the bane of my existence. Like (hey Cali), how can we be sure that a plant was hybridized with specific parents? Which is why I've been trying to get in touch with you about a project of mine. For some reason, I am not getting through to you or Alice. I will get there. :D
