Awesome, well done. I've seen soo many where they LOAD up the pan over the touch hole to show the "slow" lock time. When done right now lag time!!!

You guys are too young to really know what the best pump is. I have a model 12, an 870, an ithica 37 and others but buy far the smoothest and best pump ever made is the High Standard Flight King Deluxe 12 ga. The 16 gauge is equally smooth but they are hard to come by

Ever heard of the 70-150 Winchester? It’s a rifle round that you rechamber a Winchester 1887 shotgun to.

My favourite lever action rifle is one that does NOT have a “tubular magazine” that which are a total pain & hassle to load and unload. ~I have a Winchester Model 88 lever action in 308 with a beautifully designed “detachable magazine”. Another favourite is a Browning BLR lever action, stainless-steel takedown with a “detachable magazine” in 300 Win Mag. ~Other lever actions with a “detachable magazine” are the Savage Model 99, Sako Finnwolf, and Henry Long Ranger in 308.

It helps, but the added blast that comes from it is off-putting to me. I much prefer a suppressor!

Great rifle I just feel that standard calibers should not have a suppressor . This is not an ultralight rifle.Not needed and looks ugly.I would have got one in 3006 but have to look at another rifle. But you sir have a great channel here good luck!

400 at 2200fps? I can do that with my 26" 45-70. My limit is literally case capacity. I could get up there way more with a 45-90 or 50-110 or even 50 alaskan, the 86 is strong enough. However 416 rigby srill has more thump that 45-70 or 475. It drives the 400gr at 24-2500fps

The 870 Wingmaster was an up-scaled version of the Fieldmastlet with fancier wood and better metal finish. I've shot trap with both guns and found the Model 12, for me, kkhad sliglhtly better b

Backfire, Ron, and this clown must be including this Tate guy so that they can get free hunts. The same reason I won’t subscribe to bowhunter magazine, because all they do is advertise for outfitters for a free hunt. Outfitters and their assoc,. have made it almost impossible for every day people to go hunting and condensed every one onto what public is left, F this and their channels if they want include outfitters.
@BackcountryHuntingPodcast4 күн бұрын
Tate's actually a good friend of mine, and while my kids have gone and worked for him, I haven't gone on any free hunts because of our friendship. I value his input as a guide because he has also seen a lot of game killed, so he can offer input on what he thinks does work and doesn't.

Some times people Forget how good a Remington Core lock or Super X Winchester are Better placed because exit wounds are size of golf ball maybe a little bigger if heavy bone is hit spent 6 months in Alaska 3 years in a row with uncle Hunting guide with plane 2 Fat headed Grizzleys And a Kodiac a Silver tip wolf that were supposed to be extinct couple Caraboo with native Indians and a elk with Rack That was taller than me . 742 Remington woodsmaster with 180 grain Super x bullets exept for Kodiac was 200 grain super x We were Guiding I was security with Tags when Quartering Animals H e told me Id get a bigger bear when they would try to take our kill charging in to where they heard gun shot . Hunting the pipe line and Kodiac Island is Adrenlin adventure for sure The Wolf was loner and 7 foot long nose to butt with huge 2 foot 6 inch head from nose to back of skull pelt covered a whole living room wall . Mountain Lions were Huge up there but only seen at night. They Would turn black when you hit them with flash light they dont reflect light But they were just out hunting and casually walked next to our camp But Didnt come in But made me dig holes behind our tents you could shove dirt in to Go take dump rather than in tree line . every body who gave me crap and Harassed me about it . I was only one with a Shovel and as soon as I mentioned a big set of Fangs sinking in your neck while squatting taking dump with your pants down trying to wipe holding rifle and getting drug off in dark It scared the tar out of them And I made 300 bucks off digging the holes lol Was going to grab them and scream . my uncle caught me stalking them And said Bunch of Green horns would shoot up whole camp and scare people out of going on these trips and thats how he made his living . But we laughed histerically every time we looked at each other. To the point he made me watch the camp till they got animals down It was the funnest Hunting Ive ever Done Awareness and staying out of heavy brush is a must . But it makes you see all the Beauty of Alaska . And theres nothing on the planet like it.

It’s funny how many people say the Itaca, my father had a Model 37 feather weight, and we still have it, the barrel was so thin that we managed to find a replacement. My 3 brother and myself all bought new Ithaca’s 12, 20, 28 and a deer slayer with extra barrel for home defense barrel in 12 ga. It took us about 3 months to get all guns from Ithaca.

Depends on the terrain for me... Super thick brush and Lee's than 75 yds, I'm taking my Marlin in 44mag. All others it's my 7 mag.... But if I were to build an all around Elk only rifle I'd probably build it around the 338 federal with a 26" tube... Great show guys....

Weatherby 307 Alpine CT or the Browning X Bolt 2 Speed?
@BackcountryHuntingPodcast7 күн бұрын
If you can make your way to a big box gun store, where they have both in stock, you should handle and closely inspect each one. They're both super accurate, have great ergonomics, and offer cutting edge performance. It really just depends on which feels better in your hands.

It's a post-64 Winchester model 1886 that's been customized and restored by Doug Turnbull. He also changed the caliber to his personal own wildcat cartridge, the .475 Turnbull.
