I watched the video and I am curious why you did the test inside a garage? I think the VHF would read better outside. Another thing, you didn’t same you recalibrated the nano nap between tests.

Get rid of testing just apply for ham radio Amature license there you go access to the bands have people come to the club to learn how to use equipment.send frequency list with radios. I can't believe they haven't done it already think of there profits. Manufacturing would make way more money.73s people already spending tons of money on illegal c b radio equipment. Why not sell amateur radio equipment. You can KZbin any antenna for that matter if you have license we have name and address. If you are a problem we know where you are.

Hello, The old CEO at my workplace purchased Btech Mursv2 radios and they won't reach as far as we need them to or penetrate the walls/roof. What I'm gathering from this is we could purchase 2 and see if they would span on the FRS band and if they don't then they absolutely would reach using the UHF band? but first we would need a business fcc license. They would need to be programmed before we could attempt to try the UHF. How difficult is it to program one of these I'm new to radios but work in IT so hopefully that would help and would it penetrate a steel/asphalt roof? Thank you in advance.
@K0LWC
@K0LWC Күн бұрын
You could program them with a FRS frequency without the need for a license to see how they do. MURS uses VHF frequencies which don’t penetrate buildings as well compared to UHF which does a much better job. How far do you need them to work?

Anything is possible remember humans develop the encryption system😂 human beings develop the system that scrambles the data you don't think that they can unscramble the data also they produced the key codes to give to law enforcement to unscramble the date come on guys think that's all I'm going to say about that.
@jamesmusgrove3042
@jamesmusgrove3042 Күн бұрын
If people are listening to their encryption system I'm pretty sure they're not going to tell the media or law enforcement are the public because if that were the case they would immediately shut it down or find a way to circumvent what the person is done so if someone is listening it will be highly secretive to say they're not going to tell anyone and for good reason

People are still going to show up at the crime scene if you got a fire in your neighborhood that's been started by an arsonist people are going to come if you have a robbery in the street is blocked off people are going to come people are still going to come encryption doesn't stop that people are already at the crime scene before police get there and they have their own cell phone communication I mean it's ridiculous the argument that's being made here and it does not work they just don't want people listening to their radio broadcast but it was social media you can't stop the public from observing what's going on it's almost impossible

The FT-3DR had terrible receive audio and the FT-5DR really isn't much better. Ft-70DR still has much better audio quality. Pretty sad considering the FT-5DR is suppose to be Yaesu's flagship HT! I sold my FT-3DR and would not buy the FT-5DR! Yaesu lately seems to be throwing crap against the wall and hopes it sticks. Unfortunately the FT-70 is not as versatile as the FT-5DR. You cannot use the Wires-X software with the 70DR like you can the 3DR and 5DR.

I agree that they seem to be throwing out radios left and right with questionable quality or attention to the market. The FT5D is really the FT3Dv2 only because they had to change suppliers. So like much of the COVID-era things -- it sucks.

I don't know if adding FM will improve things on CB at all. England has FM-only CB. I used a Ranger 2950 and tuned to their calling channel during the last sunspot peak cycle from the East coast of Virginia. I have a whole drawer full of QSL cards from the UK. So FM works skip just fine.... before trying it, the word was that FM wouldn't work for long distance skip. Not true at all!

Major points that many fail to consider: In every crime there is likely a Victim a Suspect Witnesses Police need to be able to communicate confidential details about those without a third party jumping to and publicising wild conclusions about what they have heard or using that information to intimidate, harass, extort or commit further crime based on that. For example, the suspect may turn out to be completely innocent but the damage is already done. If there is a genuine requirement for disclosure of events, police communications are recorded (in the UK specifically) and can be solicited via a 'Freedom Of Information' request to the Police. Uncontrolled disclosure of sensitive details of an event may seriously compromise an ongoing investigation or cause the failure of a conviction on a technicality. Ham conditions are such because it is deemed an experimental hobby type activity where those transmitting are fully aware that they are being monitored and should behave accordingly. This keeps the activity open to all and transparent. Using encryption for unregistered private purposes immediately suggests a clandestine and probably criminal action. Where there is a genuine need for encrypted radio communications, licences for such can be bought and the activity registered based on a legitimate requirement. For most people this just means using a mobile phone. To be able to listen to emergency services activity or private mobile phone calls might have been entertaining whilst it lasted but there is certainly no 'right' to do so. Like CB radio, it was good until the moronic 'majority' got into it, then it was trashed.

I really wish you would have talked a little more about the actual INSTALL. For example, how did you mount your rig? Did you have to drill holes / put screws in anything? How did you route the wire from the antenna to the rig? w/ no engine, I assume there is no firewall, per se, but I've never pulled much apart on mine to see just how many holes there are (and where they're at) to route stuff trough. I'm sure they're there; there's plenty of stuff that has to route around through various places, but I know one thing that has kept me from putting any of my ham stuff in my Model Y is that I don't want to make any "permanent" alterations to the car (i.e. no drilling holes in anything, no sheet metal screws, etc.)

Excellent video and amazing software. I started using the ordinary commercial noise reduction a few years ago and it worked quite well even though it used road and office noise for training, rather than radio noise. I did a blog post on it. Google VK4ZXI, then "noise reduction" within my blog. Great to see amateur radio pushing the technology boundaries.

The license required aspect and how to get licensed should be part of the main presentation. Then who gets to program it to what frequencies? Sadly most businesses don't have any tech-savvy friends, end up buying Retevis RT-29s off Amazons - and worse pre-programmed to several ham frequencies - too many of them out there to solve that minor interference/annoyance issue.
@K0LWC
@K0LWC 16 күн бұрын
That is an issue. I was at a church event last week and everyone was walking around with Yaseu and Baofengs. I couldn’t confirm it, but I’m sure they were just bootlegging amateur frequencies. Perhaps I need another video on licensing.

Is an FCC license required to transmit with this radio?
@K0LWC
@K0LWC 16 күн бұрын
It depends on the frequencies you program into the radio. If you use Family Radio Services (FRS) frequencies, no. If you decide to use one of the UHF business itinerant frequencies -- then yes. The licensing for business itinerant frequencies is pretty easy. Fill out a form, pay $260 USD and you're good for a decade under the license with no frequency coordination needed.

I've been talking on the raideo for 40 year's and I will be the first to say that putting fm on a cb radio is the most pointless thing thay could have done. No respectable CBer at least by today's standards is ever going to use it. Not only is the sound quality horrible but there's no point to it when SSB is and has always been the best and most long distance means of communication on 11 meters. If someone is serious enough to talk on FM they're not going to buy a CB radio they're going to buy a HF or VHF radio.

Dear Sir: It is on the home owners, we recently bought a new home near Daytona Beach, FL. We are both 70 years old. My father was in real estate sales for decades. Few of our requirements was the geography, topography, is there a dump site, land fill, bodies of water, major roads, routes for disaster evacuations, how close is EMS, fire, Hospital. Always Buyers Beware. Especially with the largest purchase in owner lives.
