Dear friend, Hill start assist is only a short term assist by the brakes to prevent vehicle from moving in opposite direction to the selected gear after you apply brakes. It will hold the car for 5 seconds max. Not like what you have shown. What you are showing here is the torque converter holding the vehicle on the incline. This is true for all torque converter automatics, you don't need hill start assist for this behaviour. HSA is most useful in a 3 pedal transmission or on a DCT or AMT where there is a slight delay between brake release and clutch engagement. HSA is mostly useless in a torque converter autobox as the engine is always engaged to the wheels and will not roll away in the opposite direction anyway with or without HSA. I have it on my Jeep Compass automatic diesel and it is not needed for all practical purposes unless the slope is so steep and there is an obstruction immediately next to the vehicle rhat you may crash into.

Yes exactly why it's called hill launch/start assist and not hill drive assist. It only helps to launch on incline to avoid wheel and engine wear

Hill assist only works for like 5 sec max. In this case front portion of the car was on plain surface hence car is not backwards. Has it been fully on slope i.e front and back all four tyres on slope then car would have halted for 5 sec and started rolling back. Honda has cvt in auto transmission which is not known to support such heavy vehicle in standstill without application of breaks on slopes.

@@muhammedahnasap Taigun is beautiful, but looks smaller like a crossover than Compact SUV. It has two Engine options 1Ltr and 1.5 Ltr, 1.5 starts from 17 lakh i guess, Too costly if you gi for high end model.

The built quality is exceptional, And truly dont know what's rubber band affect as this is my first auto/cvt car.. I didn't feel any.. YES, there is a lag for few say 2-3 seconds during instant acceleration, but i bet, overtaking is as good as any manual cars at speeds above 60 or even at high speeds. I had a race on with kia at high speeds. i will post a video on it, but surely i wil get 1000 rupees Traffic Challan 🤣

Hi sir, I test drove the honda elevate petrol Manual Transmission. But the dealer told me that hill hold feature is not available in elevate manual and is available only in automatic transmission. And road laying is a common process all over the world, which they do after every few years, and also done when road gets damaged due to natural calamities, harsh usage etc. I dont know where u r from, if you have not experienced road laying ever in your life, its astonishing. Ofc Elevate's crash test is not done, its not abt confidence. Elevate is based on New City platform, which claimed 5 Stars. And Elevate is as safe as City. Crash tests are based on Chassis and Body Frame, not the outer skin where many people think and compare (Tin/plastic) Tata vs Maruti on road accidents.

under thigh support is good for me at 5'9" height. Yes it may be lesser for others, but drove around 1000 kms in 2 days trip. No stress, no cramps, no tiredness, ofc its cvt variant. so it was a relaxing drive.

I have booked the MT version yesterday. I am residing on top of a hill where the road is having a 45° inclination. Will it be able to make it in 1st gear and with AC on without any hassles? Asking because i did not test drive it on the incline.

Sorry, may be around 12/13 seconds, But i didn't test, i never stress my engine so hard, and also am less concerned of pick up. For a normal drivers, when do we instant pick up, at Green Signal/or Yellow Turning to Red, or to race someone. Infact several reviewers compare and talk abt pick up 0-100 kmph in xx seconds, but not a worry if its 11 or 13 seconds. Just my view.

Yes 100%, This works in Manual vehicles too. Remember, Vehicle should be in Forward Gear for uphill/ Reverse Gear when down hill. Wont work in Neutral.

Can you please comment you experience when car is fully loaded with 5 ppl and try to climb up. did it have sufficient power to pull easily? i am concerned will it move easily in hairpin turns and its elevated

Hairpin turns is so easy to calculate because of the elevated hood, Its as easy as any Compact SUVs. And abt 5 ppl, i didn't yet do hilly terrain testing. But its 1500cc, you dont feel any lag surely.,can shift to sports mode and activate paddle shifters, like a manual car.

@@deepak1018 ADAS is a waste, i disabled all ADAS features excepting CMBS (Collision Braking) which you cannot disable permanently. Initially i booked MT variant, but concerning the increasing traffic and age scenario, i shifted to CVT. ZX CVT is best, everything looks premium inside and out..(Ignore ADAS, like i forgot it exists even) ofc CMBS, you will get used to it in few days.

Not facing much issue or, I am used to it, and you can feel it only on instant acceleration for sudden pick up in low speeds, but not on gradual acceleration or high speeds. It doesn't bother, nor irritate at all. And if music is on at normal sound, u dont feel even a bit.

Hill Start Assist works for few seconds. Hill Hold Assis/ Stop assist works for unlimited time.. Here, i was on hold for more than 20 to 25 seconds i guess, removed my foot off brake pedal.

@@friendly4186 Hill Hold assist wont wear/tear clutch plates, rather they reduce the wear/tear of the components. And we may require hill hold assist mostly either in inclined traffic signal posts, or in regular ramp kind places only for few seconds to 1-2 minute max. If you are in inclined position for longer duration, shift to neutral/park mode and put on hand brakes.

@@friendly4186 Hill hold Assist is not linked to propeller shafts or gears, it works on braking system. braking the wheels through same hydraulic system. And Hand brakes are mechanical linked to braking system via cables, but dont use hydraulic system of brakes. So Hill Hold assist, Hand Brake/ Parking Brake wont wear/tear gear mechanism or clutch.

Hi Srinivas. I am in the market for a car, i had shortlisted kushaq , seltos and elevate. While i have my concerns with seltos and kushaq , i have queries for elevate. I hope you would provide unbiased opinion. 1. Is driver seat okay for 6.2" guy, i myself am 5.11 but brother is 6.2 . I took TD, found driver seat doesn't go back much. 2. Mileage is somewhat not clear. I am planning dor zx cvt, i won't say i am light on paddle due to my experiance of driving manual cars. 3. How many people have sat in car with you and then does it provide enough power? 4. I have hilly areas around my area, i am not sure if having 4 people in car on mountain road would be effortless. 5. ADAS CBMS, its quite concerning since my dad would also drive this car, sudden braking and turning it off everytime is bit hassel. 6. Is adas worth it? I mean seltos also gives it at very hight price but that is a full camera+radar based 7. NVH levels are present and cant be ignored. We can do door damping but it will still be present. 8. Camera quality is okay not very good at night. 360 would have been good addition but i dont miss it, i mean people have been parking fortuners without rear cameras even. 8. Is ZX the only vfm model? I mean VX misses out on 6 airbags, cruise control, infotainment systems, speakers , upholstery etc. Although seltos not being my first choice (structure safety) but i find seltos HTX on similar price well packaged. It gets 4 disc breaks, dual zone ac, 6 airbags and front back sensors as stabdard. Sorry for log question but i want to get elevate but i am not able to makeup my mind due to these issues. I mean shall i wait for 2nd generation of elevate? I am not sure when that will come as honda is infamous for being slow with changes. Please provide some info. Thanks

I would say if ADAS is not something that you are fond of then Seltos HTX makes more sense over Elevate at around 15 lac (ex). But if you considers ADAS over panoramic sunroof then Elevate is a better option in my opinion. And I also consider Elevate's SV and ZX variants VFM.

I opted for Elevate ZX just due to height factor. I am 6'1". Its perfect, rather Honda has done cost cutting compared to competitors in features like electric seat adjustment, TMPS and ventilated seats. But only advantage of head room and cabin space make it a must buy. Seltos front glass is inclined that's why Drivers head rubs the roof with sunroof.

Sound system is very clean. I mostly listen to club music, its very clean. Bumper to Bumper city mileage is 13-14. Highways 80-100kmph - sure shot 16/17 kmpl, 80-100 kmph is where the mileage is good, and engine runs at healthy rpm.

The cons are very little, when u think of keeping your vehicle for longer period of time. Engine performance, Durability, reliability smoothness, and peace of mind..Honda is best. And shoulder room is ample, Only for middle passenger, there may be inconvenience a bit.

Tata Curvv would be a disaster for sure Apart from build quality tata offers nothing , engine is pathetic in Tata Cars reliability is also a concern they add tons of features but nothing works properly most of the time you have to visit service center. You can also check out kushaq and taigun if you need power and performance.

@@bsunilnaga Either its hill assist, or brake assist or Traction control. its more than 30 seconds my vehicle could hold without rolling downwards. You try for yourself, goto a steep or an inclined road or any cellar parking, stop your vehicle. Put the gear (D/R) as desired. Remember put in Drive /1st gear if on slope facing (upward) and Reverse if on inclination facing downwards. Dont press accelerator. your vehicle should stay without rolling, and start your stopwatch. Pls Reply me back

You mean, through app or..sitting inside your car. Tail gate/ Boot just unlocks, but doesn't open by itself. You can only unlock through app from outside, by key from outside.. Or from inside, by pressing the door unlock button placed on your right door. By any means, it only unlocks, so opening is manually operated.

@@sanjaydobal2219 The 3rd option is for Engine Start/Stop from outside the vehicle, It works at a distance from where you can lock/unlock the vehicle. Its main purpose to turn ON Engine AC and cool your vehicle before you board. For CVT Vehicles only.. 1 Press the first button LOCK once 2. Press the hold button for few seconds, and your vehicle Engine Starts. Engine keeps running for max 10 mins, To turn OFF the Engine, same process.

Hill stop assist doesn't last that long. The assist works for only couple of seconds. Put that vehicle purely on the RAMP and then see, your vehicle will roll back in 3-4 secs. You think its working because of the placement of your front part on the flat rough surface. The front tyre is also tilted. The front side of the vehicle is heavy and it will not let you roll so easily. You need to check the facts.

Yeah, you may be right, but here, my vehicle was truly in inclined position, and i got bit scared too, as it was pulling downwards, Vehicle stopped only when i shifted to Drive mode (or 1st Gear in Manual) And abt few seconds or few mins, i was in inclined position for a near minute in idling speed (& Drive Mode), and hill stop assist was definitely holding the vehicle. Yes, The front tire is rightly on a flat ground. But when a vehicle is inclined position, irrespective of the weight being front or back, the mass of an object is in downward direction. Force of Gravity (weight) acts in downward direction, though normal force acts perpendicular to the surface.

Aap lene se pehle, vaha kisi SUV lejao aur ramp pe test kr ke dekh lo, uss hisaaf se sahi vehicle choose krna. Kyunki own flat hai tho saalo rehna hoga. Bade SUVs Harrier (205), XUV700 (200), Tuscan (195) unka bhi ground clearance utna nahi, jitna Elevate ka (220). So, pehle test krna zaroor.
