I feel like the reason fan pitches are so uninspired is just that there's a fundamental difference between what a fans would suggest in a "What spinoffs do you want to see" video or Reddit post, vs the pitch an actual show runner would make. Like yeah, of course a fan's first thought is "I want to see X favourite character go on adventures and fight bad guys!" or "I want a show set in Y location!" It's not a surprise that fans want more of what's established in the show. The more enterprising among them might come up with a cast of fanfic OCs that they'd include, including alien species they made up themselves or planets that they have lovingly world built. But while that would make an interesting fan fiction, it would be weird to suggest in this kind of scenario, even though that's literally what EVERY Doctor Who spinoff NEEDS TO DO. "Hey you guys know what would make a great Doctor Who spinoff? This list of OCs I made up!" is a weird thing to suggest in a Reddit post pitching fan ideas for spinoffs, despite the fact that literally every Doctor Who spinoff from Class to Torchwood to Sarah Jane Adventures is 90% OCs. I kinda think that the point of these sorts of discussions, contrary to how they might appear, ARE NOT really to pitch an actual fully functioning series, but to facilitate discussion with other fans of Doctor Who ABOUT Doctor Who. It's basically covertly saying "Hey, what are some characters/settings/stories about Doctor Who that you want to see more of?" rather than "Let's actually craft a compelling piece of science fiction storytelling". I know this barely has anything to do with the video, just something I was thinking about. Anyway, give me a Sontaran and Tivolian going on buddy cop adventures through the galaxy as they discover the true meaning of courage.

I thought it was just...ok. I remember when I watched it I would be so exited for a scene to come up and when it did it had been changed or very shorted, and when that happend I was just dissapointed. But the parts they did right I realy liked. so overall its just meh for me. If they come out with season two and its actualy good, I can tell you now, I wont be watching season one again😭

This healed me a little. Still mad about TRoS If you’re a LOTR fan I recommend Rings of Power and Haladriel. Not the same as Reylo because the point isn’t redemption (at least not until the 4th Age) and it’s definitely more tragic, but it’s just as electric, and the recontextualization of canon is fascinating.

So we might already be getting this but I think the most logical idea for a spin off that is different to what we've already had is rather than having old characters fighting new monsters, new characters fighting old monsters. Perhaps you could do a series set during the cyber wars on one of the endless list of colony worlds. It probably wouldn't be that expensive as damage from the war has caused the colony to regress back into a lifestyle that is similar to the 21st century. The cybermen are also an incredibly well established villain with lots of different opportunities for cunning schemes and story telling. Not every story has to be about them though, some could be about problems within the colony itself like political power struggles. You could even have the odd old face make an appearance like River Song or the Master. Perhaps the Master shows up and pretends he wants to save the colony only to backstab them and in the finale the characters have to defeat them instead.

Late comment but I think you could do something neat with Sutekh being a mirror to the Doctor He’s not inspired by travelling across the universe and saving lives, he simply sees the degeneracy, the horrors and the foulness of creation and just says “fuck it, life has no meaning so it might as well end” which could have been fun and an extension of his motivations in Pyramids

You are 1000 % RIGHT!! Seriously I’m a die hard muppet show fan and child of the 70’s and 80’s. The Whole Muppet Gang needs to be going back to its roots of the original muppet show. Thank you sincerely from my heart. I cried when Jim Henson passed away, I was depressed for weeks…..Then I got back up thinking Disney had it under control. They didn’t. In an interview that Frank Oz gave some years ago. I think he was quoted in saying that: the negotiations with the Walt Disney Company and Jim Henson stressed out Jim Henson, so much it made him sick and many believe that’s why he passed. Jim Henson’s Format and spirit live on. So it’s time to light the lights. It’s time to make the music on the Muppet show tonight!! Let’s get Disney to do exactly what you said. I think you are brilliant and Disney needs to see this honest and great clip you made. ❤❤❤❤ BRING BACK THE MUPPET SHOW NOW!!!! THE WORLD NEEDS THE MUPPETS MORESO TODAY THAN EVER BEFORE

I wonder if perhaps the sense of humor needs to be updated. Controversial, but I'd see how some really funny youtubers or podcasters could do in the Muppets writers room. Folks that really mesh well and can make it seem natural.

Mrs Flood is the presenter of the new Doctor Who. In a year or two, all these episodes will be explained as a tv series. Not the real doctor at all. Like an extended dream sequence. I wouldn’t be surprised. Why else would the scripts be so shitty? 😂 Who could ever believe that a god could be taken for a walk of death, um I mean life?

The issue for me they either make projects for kids or do edgier stuff for adult but the muppets where never that they where for the whole family kid jokes and jokes that would fly over the kids head a family show but with one more important think heart ❤️.

The thing about Lindy is she is exactly like everyone else you could have literally picked anyone of the residents of Finetime and it would have resulted in the same outcome the only reason she didn't get eaten was because of the doctor so thats the issue with her because she was the protagonist she got special treatment from the audience hoping for her to be safe but in reality she is no different than all of the extras that got eaten by the slugs. And so at the end she instead of being different she ended up doing what all the others did. Its kind of a odd shift in plot picking a random person out of society to make special it's not like in Blink where she was special because she was being all over the angels have all that storyline no Lindy was literally just no different than all of the extras and that's what made this one odd we as the audience got to see what the view of a extra is as opposed to a actual protaganist I guess.

I really agree that Disney should bring back The Muppet Show! I unfortunately missed the small time in my life where the muppets were relevant and I'd like to see them back as popular characters that people know, not just stand ins for humans in classic stories. I think a new muppet show would be really great, and they should definitely release it weekly. This is a great video!

this ep IMO both serves as a farewell to the 12th Doctor and offers a full-circle moment that ties back to the very first incarnation of the Doctor, portrayed by William Hartnell. This episode is not only a fitting send-off for Capaldi but also an important reflection on the journey of the character, both in terms of personal growth and in the historical context of the show itself. a reflection on who they were, who they are, and who they will become. By bringing the First Doctor into the final moments of the 12th Doctor’s era, the show creates a beautiful sense of closure, completing a narrative arc that began in 1963 with William Hartnell. It is a full-circle moment that reminds us that, no matter how many faces the Doctor wears, the essence of the character-and the adventure-remains timeless.

My favourite scene from this special is where Bill asks One why he ran from Gallifrey to begin with. It's such a lovely exploration of that character, and his evolution, and it shows the humble beginnings of what would gradually grow into the definitive force of good, fighting evil throughout the galaxy. It's almost fitting that even all those decades later, both in and out of the show, the doctor still doesn't entirely realise he is the exact person he set off to find in the first place. The one awkward sexist joke scene aside, I feel William Hartnell would have adored the exploration of his doctor's character in this story. (I may be somewhat biased there though because I do adore David Bradley as One lol)

this is literally one of my all-time favorite films, and probably the one I'd recommend to anyone who wanted to ask. It's so earnest and sincere and full of joy and hope and... even in the grief at the end (no spoilers) it doesn't linger, it reminds us that there's more joy and light to be found even after we've had our hearts broken. I don't know, it just gets me every time.

Great video, man. Your ideas are exactly how I feel about a subject like this. This feeling of "a childhood favorite" franchise being in a dead-spot also somewhat applies to my favorite young-age Thomas the Tank Engine now, whereas the current owners have a serious misunderstanding of the appeal of the show and is now in a place of watered-down schlock.

Personally i generally believe that rick really should have not have been involved in this boring lazy cringe wooden acting show Because if you look at the cast of the Percy jackson show and the harry Potter movies there is a huge difference and that is that the cast of Harry Potter actually can act especially since the harry Potter cast were all just 10 - 11 years old where as the Percy jackson cast are 12 - 13 years old especially since where you can actually see the actors as there book characters through there looks and personality that are like the books Where as the Percy jackson show you feel absolutely absolutely nothing no time to breath no time to actually get to know our characters at all the only one who seems to be acting is walker where as the rest of the cast it's all wooden and emotionless 💙🧡💙🩵🧡🩵💚🧡💚

I see alot of reviews not acknowledging the game giant purple elephant in the show, Annabeth. Race swapping ruined alot of her character and the girl just robotically says her short Rpg lines with the emotional range of aggravated to aggressive. Maybe with a better actress or better writing it could have worked but this particular actress isnt ready for a lead role. Why didn't the director have 70% of her screen time either arms crossed, saying something rude or just looking mean and uninterested. I wouldnt be shocked to hear in the future she herself didnt like the role.
