I am hoping to re start and really want to go next week if possible. I start a new job very soon which will help financially and I'm hoping to then visit the gorillas once a month. I won't be monetised but it wasn't all about that in the first place. So it won't be as many as I did but it will be more than what I have produced the last few months. If they didn't clean it up I'm fairly sure there would be a lot of poo in that room and very little floor space with out poo. At night the gorillas go to their private sleeping quarters. That gives the staff a good few hours to clean their habitat.

@suejohnlaptop, it amazes me the intricacies in our natural world. We can train a rabbit to poop in the same place/potty train if you like, but we have these incredible humanlike animals that can use tools but can not be taught to use a toilet area. It's such an important part in nature when animals that eat plants spread their droppings for more plants to grow. These are my very un scientific thoughts on how it all works anyway and itc does amaze me how each and every living being takes it's part in our planet, apart from most of us humans that tend to take from earth but not give back.

@suejohnlaptop, I am very sorry you ferl that way. I can assure you that my channel makes no money on any social media sites. I do not accept donations. I pay +-£20 to £30 for the train to and from London. Entry to the zoo costs +-£31. I have paid for a year on an editing web site so I can edit my videos which cost around £100. I use my mobile phone to video, no special equipment. Because of the cost I have been unable too visit for several months but hope to go back in February. I don't work for the zoo. So 'you people' do not make money from the baby gorillas. I started this chanel because of an incident that someone else videos and before assuming anything i felt I needed to visit and see for myself how bad the situation was. I found it wasn't anywhere near as bad as it looked. Unfortunately it isn't perfect either, but that just the humans. The gorillas are perfect. @denisemorris, this video, I think, came from my first or second visit! So yes, how did you miss this? Lol I am sorry I have mo new videos, I haven't been able to sort my zoo membership out so I haven't been able to go. I really do hope to get back up and running in January. I miss my little girls and I bet they are growing too fast, and we are all missing watching them 😢. I will do my best to go as soon as it's possible.

@mycanelita, thank you for watching. I am sorry you feel Mad and Sad about Alikas treatment of Venus. I don't think anyone would feel Happy watching little Venus being scared. However, the zoo have stated that to intervene would be even worse for Venus and the whole troop. I have not been to the zoo in over a month now so I do not know if Alika is still behaving in this way, she was definitely calmer and more grown up with Venus the last time I saw them. I think a lot of people underestimate the troops ability to manage the situation themselves. Anyway, thank you once again for watching and I hope the next time I visit the troop, Alika will be more mature and I will have easier videos to watch.

@beckyhodges, it us very difficult to watch as a human who does not understand the intricacies of gorilla beha your. The zoo do acknowledge that Alika is rough with Venus, however Alikas behaviour is normal. It would cause Venus more harm if she was taken out, and if Alika is taken out it would cause a massive upheaval of the whole troop. They follow the troops guidance, especially Kiburi. In all the videos of Alika being rough with Venus he remains calm, but is always near by. The same with Gernot. He tends to follow Alika around, as does Effie. Effie has been seen to take Venus back when she feels Alika is taking it too far. I think in all the videos of gorilla troops in captivity, you will see the whole troop react if the baby is at risk or if they s ream (not sure how to describe the sound). In this video, Kiburi is literally laying on the ground under the shelf that Alika is sitting on and he didn't even look worried. I find it upsetting to see that Venus is scared, no one can deny that she is. However us video watchers are not educated in gorilla management. We don't personally know the troop in the way the keepers do and I have been happy to put my trust in that they havnt taken either out from the exhibit therefor it isn't as bad as it looks. Accidents do happen though, so I will never say Venus is 100% safe. I always try to explain my views and you do often explane your thoughts and they are valid. It's a pity you are not in the UK otherwise I would encourage you to go and see the bigger picture yourself. It's a pity I can't do that to help you feel less upset. There is a very small amount of video footage of Alika being rough with Venus, and there are hours of footage where Venus is being well looked after and loved. Equally there is a lot of footage of her climbing like a pro, getting stronger, more inquisitive and more independent. I try to focus on the positive videos, not the minority of where she is scared. I can't do anything about it so I choose to focus on the majority of positive videos of Vsnus. Have a lovely weekend and take care 😊 Anyway, have a good weekend

@pamcansler, when you say old, I need to tell you they are only around 3/4 months old. I have been unable to go to the zoo for two months now because I didn't read the terms and conditions on my zoo membership. I thought I had paid when I got my membership but they only tried to take the payment last month, when I didn't have enough money for it! I drove 3 hours to the zoo two weeks ago and they wouldnt let me in. I was very upset but there is nothing I can do until I have enough money to pay for the membership. I thought I had paid back in August! So I'm hoping to sort it out at the end of this month, and I will try to go back to visiting once a week. I'm sure Venus is fine though. She really is tough,, not at all weak when I have seen her. In this video she was very tired but was trying not to fall asleep! Thank you for watching 😊

@pamcansler, I'm very sorry if it looked as though I was being defensive. I know your comment wasn't directed at me, it was a generalised statement of fact and your feelings about Venus. I answered just because that is the reason I haven't been able to make newer videos. I was really upset when they turned me away at the zoo. I only wanted to go in and so one exhibit but they didn't budge. I share your concerns about Venus and I hate that I haven't been able to see her. I do trust the keepers 100%, so I am sure she is OK, but accidents happen and because its been 2 months since I was last there, I worry to say she is fine when I really don't know. I get paid next week, so if I can re new my membership I will work at it and try to get short videos every second day and longer videos maybe once a week. That is my plan anyway. I haven't re watched this particular video, but it looks like it's the one when she was genuinely tired but just would not go to sleep. If so I understand why you thought she looked weak. I also think she gets very tired after Alika has her. I would think it's because she gets stressed. I don't like the way Alika interacts with Venus or Effie, but I have seen siblings stealing the babies often, some more rough than others! Thank you so much for watching my videos. @patriciamorgan, I thought it was Gernot but I don't know. I don't think its in this video but after the gorilla dangled down, they jumped down and started wrestling Effie. I wasn't sure that Alika and Effie would do that. However, because they were trying to get the baby, it must ave been Alika. If any zoo keepers from London Zoo watch this, please let me know, I have so many questions for them!

@Ape_Appreciation I thought it looked more like lady parts than gentleman parts. It wasn't like you got a really clear angle to identify that anatomical structure.

That structure in gorillas I have been told is extremely small. I was quite surprised by that! 🤔

@Ape_Appreciation it is. The guys have a little nub and the ladies have a little trough. Chimpanzees are definitely a lot easier to differentiate.

@bettinaspons, I agree! I have another two examples of this on that day! Alika was also chasing after Mjukuu, but she runs fast and always runs to the private quarters. She kept leaping out of nowhere so she must have been in stealth mode :)

Vue son comportement brutal les mamans ne sont pas prêtes de lui faire confiance, surtout tant que les bébés sont petits.
