Hope to learn how to make the yoke and leather harnesses and hitching info as i created a wagon for my neice i wanted pulled by plastic toy draft horses with real miniaturized to scale leather bridaling straps, buckels, belts and genuine miniaturized hardware and an elevated cradle on wheels to move the horses through their paces. The wagon uses balloon tires and a radio flyer frame work for the axels and designed to carry 18 raw milk cans. Two figures sit up front in 1/12th scale. Colorful yet utility driven. Having those draft horses hitched up correctly would add a touch of humility to this wagon for the work it was called to perform. One retired dairy farmer marveled at an elevator to lift and lower heavy raw milk cans that he wished i was around to see my fictional Delivery wagon in his day with this unique characteristic on all their delivery trucks and horse drawn wagons on soft ground.

Wearing a covering and dress doesn’t make you Amish. No distinct accent and Meyer isn’t an Amish last name. Nice try though.

This is likely a silly question but I’m looking for help. I volunteer at a sports complex that requires a shuttle (golf cart) service because of the long, uphill walk. This service is well appreciated but last week I faced a situation with a lady in a wheelchair. It would have been difficult to move her from her chair to the cart so her little friend had to push her the entire distance. She was struggling mightily. I thought some sort of harness from the cart to the chair would be a wonderful addition. Safety features would be huge but I wonder if someone like you might be able to address the idea. Am I nuts?
Very confident riding, complete control and command over robust horse pl upload such more videos

I was curious to know a bit more about the lifestyle etc. But the background music (totally unnecessary - why do you think it is needed?) and the wind interference, made watching this so irritating (for me), that I had to stop.

I have always wanted to join the Amish live like the Amish. I grew up on a farm, so hard work doesn’t bother me at all and I would love to marry an Amish girl.

The Amish do not believe in electricity. It is sad the carriage has to have those lights on it, probably by law. Everyone wants to be offended at something, but I'm just saying.. did it not immediately jump out at anyone else as a tad bit.. idk, imagine if you were Amish, and it's probably law yes,.. but what about the freedom to express your religion? Was a lamp lantern not allowed? Lol just my 2 cents, I didn't see anyone else commenting on this little minor thing to us, but.. maybe to them..

I don't understand why electric is bad but gas is good, air compressors are good, gas engines are good, steam tractors are good. It doesn't make sense. Why have they proclaimed electric is bad ? They are still using the conveniences of power tools, lights, washing machines ect they are just going about it in a more difficult way. It defies logic.

It’s the connection to the power grid. On gas and propane there is no connection

🧒🏼If you look at the first automobiles, they look very similar to these buggies. Also, those old Stagecoaches. It looks like their ancestors are the original auto makers, but Dimeter Mercedes, Dodge Bros, Henry Ford used their design, but added an engine and built them on a mass scale. If you install a gasoline engine on the front of one of these buggies, it will be identical to what Jay Leno has in his stable.

Since the Amish are not really embracing electricity in the home , how are they recharging the car batteries that are powering the buggy's lights and stuff ?
@pinkiepie1656 Жыл бұрын
They use solar and sometimes non-rechargible batteries

When I call my sister in Pennsylvania I hear a noise if her and her husband are in the car driving. I always ask if it is a horse and buggy clumping away in front of them. But I know it's only the sound of their turn signal. We are from Pennsylvania. My dad always said "a horse with a buggy BEHIND!!"

If God created the things necessary for evil to come into being, then that is because he wants to allow both to be possibilities, but he asks us to choose life, choose good and eschew evil.... My point exactly that he created "Everything Good," not evil, but that "good creation" includes the potential for evil. Good and Evil are polar opposites. God is either schizo or He is Good and not a monster shoving evil our way. Let's look into the Amos 3:6 passage as time permits. Common sense...

Wouldn't it be better to use some type of a modern pneumatic type of a wheel? I don't see the point of using the wooden Wheels - 10 times more work to wind up something that's inferior = Change = I'm wrong
