I don't remember being scared by this but I appreciate why it would be frightening for a 7 year old

If this video was made a year or two later we'd probably see Borrasca and Pen Pal on this list.

At the time, I was very scared of this video, but now I'm amazed at how high the quality of this video is, even though it was made about 10 years ago.

The amazing thing about this story is that it feels so real and believable. It's not so gruesome or dark that it's unbelievable either. The early 1900's could be a ruthless time and most of these stories just feel like the average lives of people back then. It was an age where arsenic could be used as a beauty product, cocaine was a cough medicine, nearly half (462 / 1000) children would die before the age of 5 and doctors washing their hands was seen as crazy until 1847. These photos just kinda.. happened ya know?

When I was younger I absolutely hated the cliffhanger he left off on The Showers. After reading the story later on. I’m so glad he did!

You can definitely tell these were written by 12 year olds that read creepypastas. It would explain why they never spell check and why they are so focused on meaningless details and the fact that everything is hyper realistic...which what is that even supposed to mean? I have been writing since i was thirteen and although my earliest works weren't great i have never used nonsense words to fill out my word count. I just thought of a plot and bulit the story around it...which is how most authors write. I really hope that these people didn't give up writing because of this, because with a little more practice and some simple spell check they could get better. One is not born with a feather quile in their hand and the ability to write a perfect story...one must work hard and be willing to learn through their mistakes. And then they accure the quile.

I genuinely liked The Last Straw. Not as a creepypasta, but as a Family Guy episode. I would love to see an episode where meg gets revenge, or at least dreams of getting revenge which is why she pulls out a gun out of nowhere

Anomaly is a personal favorite of mine because they give just enough details in both the pictures and story to be interesting without blatantly telling you what's happening. A lot of creepypasta is hampered by getting too concerned with a cheap scare or handing the reader every detail that's destroys the mystery.

What's up, creepypasta fans? Hope this doesn't spoil the fun or come off as too mercenary, but I am the original author/creator of Anomaly (and can prove it if necessary). Rembetis was just one of many usernames I adopted back then, and stems from the time I lived in Greece and enjoyed the "rembetika" style of folk music. Anyway, I stayed quiet and anonymous for years, preferring to maintain the mystery (such as it is), never really expecting this material to survive this long when I first posted it on /x/ on 12/7/2012. I harbor no ill will towards Hoodlum and all the other KZbin channels who have used Anomaly without sharing any benefit -- that's the nature of putting stuff on the Internet unprotected (and frankly, the urban legend thing was what I was shooting for) -- but if you dig Anomaly, and this style of storytelling in general, you might also enjoy my collection of 13 weird/horror stories that was published in 2022 called The Ana Log & Other Anomalies. You can find it on Amazon or in some Barnes & Noble stores, or I have some signed copies I can sell you directly. At least half of the stories share a similar "found material" / riffing on real history vibe. Fwiw, Anomaly also had a Part II that I posted about a year later (Halloween night, 2013) that was sort of ruined by trolls, but you can still find a partial archive of it here: archive.4plebs.org/x/thread/13620989 (photos archived towards the bottom here: 4chanarchives.com/board/x/thread/15418420). Cheers and stay creepy, folks! The Ana Log & Other Anomalies: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMSR76X5 p.s. Hoodlum is correct. In the higher resolution files, you can clearly see three UFOs hovering in the upper right corner of the uncropped Trinity Deception photo. However, he is incorrect in that Photo 8 is an authentic (albeit doctored) photo of an actual lynching.

Wow, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your others works, I’ll definitely be checking them out as I loved Anomaly! It’s fascinating how these stories can spread on the internet and retain an audience even all these years later. Thank you for your writing and for checking out my video! Keep up the great work!
