it looks and feels like shit and anyone who argues that emulating the classic sprite work's more limited frame data feels better is fucking delusional. It's not more readable and it is indeed just awful to look at especially with how much more significantly noticeable it is in 3D models and when many elements are running at a much higher frame rate. The King of Fighters XIII proved this by just how many frames of animation were implemented in the remade sprites. It's insane to me that people will still argue that it's a purely stylistic choice that at all pays off. The animation work in many of arc systems titles is superb and industry leading. But this attempt to emulate a style makes simply does not work and the entire reductive argument of those opposed to the simple reality that the more smooth and fluid animation the easier it is digest and view. Nobody fucking says mario 64 was easier to read and looked better when it was stuck at an inconsistent and choppy 30 fps, and nobody says tekken is visually less readable.
