How's the autofocus with young kids?
@BradWatanabe
@BradWatanabe 4 күн бұрын
Honestly, it depends on how old your kids are 😁 if you’re used to some of the newer (2022-2025) AF performance of Sony (or almost any brand) then this won’t be impressive Auto Focus… there’s no eye or subject AF, but it’s not bad if your kid will hold somewhat still. I use it with my 4 year old a bunch

I agree the battery isn't that bad and it's the reason you can cram it down a winter coat! I carry two spares as well and rarely to I need to use them. I do see the need however if being out for full days shooting. My biggest gripe is the weather sealing, I'm always having second thoughts packing it because of this. I use the lens hood from the 40mm 2.5 G with a black mist filter on it to quickly adapt. If it brakes I'd buy another, hell if I'd find a good deal I'd buy another before hand just in case...

I’m still hoping for a mark iii version of this camera that’s weather sealed, but honestly think I’d miss the more classic colors of this older Sony sensor. Stoked to find another RX1Rii user 🙌🏼

But the batteries are Tiny! As it is, I never leave home without a spare battery and a spare card for any camera that I’m using. And two of the Tiny batteries are still smaller than A battery for the A7iv. So, what’s the big deal?

I’ve wanted one of these cameras for a while. Despite being around 10 years old it still sells for close to $2K. I am still looking for a more reasonably priced camera. Maybe a Sony A7Rii with a 35mm lens? Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

I've actually been playing with the A7CR with the 35mm Zeiss and size-wise, they're actually really comparable. But the A7Rii would be a great option if you're okay with the slightly larger size. Curious to know what you end up deciding. Mahalo

Love this, change is super hard and scary, but is necessary. Life is change. I’ve been busier than ever, helping my family. It’s so weird, the money part really had me scared, and I’m still getting it figured out…but I think God just makes a path for you if you follow what he’s calling you to do. Anyways, I saw how your key motivation in life began to change when Eli came. I remember telling Josh, “Yeah, 4 years ago, Brad never ever ever would take a day off or leave early.” But I could see the work-life balance scale start tipping more towards life than work. I remember our first trip and I was telling you how much I wish I was at home, and you thought it was just me being homesick…but when you have a young kid at home, especially with the first kid, every hour or day you’re away from them feels like you’re missing them growing up. I’m really happy knowing that you’re really making the effort to create those systems, and training the right people, so you can make that time for you and your family…that’s something that not all parents do, like with my parents who mostly choose work. I actually used to really wonder if you’d be one of those kind of absent, work always comes first kinds of dad. But you actually really made a lot of changes, hard changes that I’ve seen you struggle through, in order to make that time and I’m really proud of you for that. Just wanted to say. Anyways, so many good memories and lessons, in the past and in the future as well! I’ll see ya at the next shoot!

Mahalo Mana 🤙🏽 Food stuff B, I will say I am teh a-hole in the bunch because I will always say "Stress" is self inflicted. After almost dying from a stroke I don't stress the small stuff that people who've never lost freak out over. I don't set undue expectations. I don't place my personal self value in the minds of others. I don't chase rewards for satisfaction and approval. I know my purpose. This makes life hella smooth.

Wow this is crazy, the irony of how different cultures intertwined and meet up in different facets, virtually or in person. I just lost my mom July and it has been really difficult. Just like yourself doc, I was able to at least show my mom what I might know of certain topics like accessibility for example. It is really special to me and a blessing, that at least my mom understood where my beginnings were. She was proud of me being on air with oh, and in that same facet, it was really what you said their, brought everything into focus like a camera lens. I feel, my moments for my journey which has just barely started, even if it's going to be in the space of creation or something completely different. The fact of the journey in itself. With our family and also the loss of our family. It's almost like I felt my mom is with me at times like that too, and just I think the irony here becomes that it's very similar to all, our parents want militant to us, but they wanted us to work hard at our craft and to work hard to serve others as well. Since, giving selfless help to others to make them a better person or Creator or whatever you want to fill in the blank. It just makes this conversation that much more interesting and it really hit home for me. Thank you so much for always allowing the audience ⁰ to connect with you as human beans and to always inspire! Cheers!
