I bought from them a long time ago and the skink seemed like it had parasites and died shortly after.

Roughly 4 years ago, I was given a box turtle by some old friends who rescued him from their dog (who had dug him up and was chewing on him and ate his leg off....He literally has 3 legs) When they brought him to me I didnt have much knowledge on how to care for a 3 legged box turtle. To say the least, it has been quite a journey learning how to take care of a 3 legged box turtle! But he has definitely come a long way from the health condition he used to be in. He has developed some orange and yellow speckles all over his face and limbs and he has a little bit more color to his shell too. His name is Jeff and he is very rambunctious, energetic and a strong little fella after all he's been through! He does have a few bits of shell rot though that havent gone away. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat that?

I got mine as a baby. I didn't know it was an ECB turtle so I put him in a 10 gal water tank and he was in there for 6 months. Now after looking at this video I got a larger setup and placed him in. He dug into the dirt, then went into the water. Then back into the dirt and he's not happy. He stopped eating and does not want to come out from under the dirt. He loves crickets and mix turtle food but he's not eating.

Instead of using cypress mulch uncover the basking area, perhaps you could use a tile, or slate.

i got told from others that bell peppers are a go0d f0od source. This is what is happening, i read that much i get mixed info, so for some i really do not know what to believe, i got told buttercups can kill them, then on a label of fo0d for them you see a buttercup growing & a tortoise reaching out to eat it lol.

Hi, do you take in rescue turtles? We have a 6 year old turtle named Ninja that we can not take care of since my son left for college. Looking for a nice home for him. He is very sweet and loves to be hand fed. Please let me know if you or anyone you know can help.

Hello, I have a yellow belly turtle that I can no longer take care of since my son left to college, and I was wondering if you take rescues or know someone who does. I live in Florida and Ninja is 6 years and very calm and likes to even be hand fed. Please let me know. Thank you

Hi, just watched your video - Great btw! I have recently become the owner for 2 horsefield tortoises and we are using a Mercury Vapour 100 Watt light. I was wondering if we need to have 2 separate lights rather than the ‘combi? It would be great to get your opinion 🤞🏻😊

any chance we can get an update on how the turtles are doing in these enclosures? We had a wild box turtle as kids, but only because he was missing a foot and was in a pile of trash in a shed that was about to crumble. We aren't sure if it was a birth defect or if it was ripped off and healed, but he has a little nub for one of his back feet. It doesn't stop him from running around, though! He lives with my parents who refuse to release him, so I try to take care of him when I'm over their house and check on him. I'm surprised he has been here for over 10 years in a fish tank, nothing to dig in beyond the newspaper they used to give him, and no UV light. Also, he has gone through winters with nothing but the lighting in the bathroom which I can guarantee isn't the proper light. I'm watching tons of videos now because while my father isn't home, I'm going to remake the indoor enclosure to better suit him and make him happy and healthy. I don't have a ton of funds, but I want to do right by him. His name is Georgie, and he has a very shy personality. I would do an outdoor enclosure, but it's getting cold outside, and we have tons of predators out here that I'm worried will somehow get past chicken wire. But I'm going to try my best to make him happy.

Watching you pick up that turtle gave me a mad craving for an omelet. I originally watched it to see how to pick a Florida softshell turtle so it does not fall into my empty pool on the way to our pond
