Aggression in Box Turtles is vexing for sure. I have this one Juvenile male who eventually will challenge my oldest male and current Alpha. This Juvenile will go through a few weeks a year where he nips and bites. He will draw blood and even do damage to shells! My saddest case is a lovely little 4 year old that was an In Ground hatchling. One of the adults decided he could be a snack and they bit his head, so he only has one eye, and is missing a piece of jaw. Cyclops is a trouper though and I hand feed him to be sure he is getting enough nutrients. Really nice set ups. I for one would be in there frequently with a book or something to sit with, so I could watch them all enjoy their tanks and set ups! Those Pink Bellies and that Snapper have so grown!! Really nice! Thanks for showing us. Very patient camera person. Good Job all around.

I like very much all the care & attention you show these lovely creatures. My nearly 13 yr. old Eastern box, Buddy has been pooping light green mush after eating raw 80%/20% hamburger. Normally my turtles get less fatted meat. Buddy is lethargic now. Should I be worried?

I got a question, I tried to mix my substrate - same as you do but I can NOT find any GOOD TOP SOIL. !!!! The one at Walmart has METAL IN IT !! I actually sifted through all the dirt abd got so much junk ! The usual sticks,rocks bur I found glass, and other things that I couldn't figure out what they were... I put my baby in there abd she went crazy..😭 At first,I wasn't sure if she was just mad at me for changing the substrate from strangnum moss / green runway to this new one or what ?? But then I READ the BOTTOM of the BAG ! I IMMEDIATELY RINSED HER OFF & PUT HER BACK IN THE LIL CHANGING TUB & CALLED THE PEOPLE... ( ON A SATURDAY @ 5:30 ) They say it is ORGANIC TOPSOIL BUT I HAVE TO TALK TO THE BOSS MAN🙄... WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR TOPSOIL FROM PLEASE ???? Meanwhile I bought more of the Coconut Soil Bedding to mix but waiting for soil..... Dang or should I use peat moss ?? Sounds better..🙄 IDK I just don't want to put her through that crap again..😞 LOVE your filtration system ... Well the whole tub set up...AWESOME 👍❣️

@@gilbertbeilschmidt5116 it is possible that yours didn't get the nutrition it needed as a baby to grow bigger. The first 4 years are the biggest growth time, after that it is very slow. I've seen some very small wild ones and some huge wild ones. It's really interesting how different each can be.

Ive had two female 3-toed box turtles for almost 4 years now, they have been in my family for over 65years. I have been working to build them a 75gal paludarium. You're the first person with true water features for your turtles. Do you ever add isopods or silver tails to your substrate? In the water portion of their tank I have feeder fish and crawdads that they love to chase. Definitely will be needing your help on my turtles.

Go to the Department of Natural Resources website. Go to the permit to own wild life. Download and fill it out. For personal use just mail in the form and payment and they will mail back the permit. For breeding use they do come out to inspect, then give a permit if you are good to go.
