Exactly right about Gan's obsession with weight reduction. Their cubes feel so hollow, dry, and cheap when they are turned. They can learn something from the design of the Guhong Pro M, which has such a nice feel. For performance, I believe that there is a relation between the mass of the turning finger, it's power, and the weight of the layer being turned, when considering the rotational speed and control achievable. IMO, the lightest weight is not the optimal one for best performance. The distribution of the weight in the pieces (esp the distance of the centre of mass of the pieces from the core) also has something to do with it. I think the next advance will come from balancing the mass of the pieces in a layer (like wheel alignment). Additional weight may have to be added at the points that the finger hit the layer to make it turn crisply with as little motion and force as possible. Just reducing weight is too simplistic an approach, IMO.

Can someone recommend me a cube? I want it to have the kind of plastic that the Tornado V3/V4 has but at the same time I also want the cube to feel like a Huameng YS3M when turning.

Got the flagship v4 in the mail a few weeks ago, it has definitely not dethroned the gan12 as my main, but it is incredibly satisfying. I definitely rate it over the rs3m v5, it feels on par with the wrm v10 just with less of an intense magnetic feel

Why can't they prioritize durability. Too often, as a beginner, have I dropped a cube and it get cracked. I say they make a durable cube with thicker plastic and retain all the latest magnetic innovations. Forget the puzzle being light and small. I unfortunately have big thick man hands a need something that won't have me catching my thumbs. Yes this sport is more popular with younger people but can a man have a good cube that'll last at least 5 years or so.

I was walking around a mall when I went to a art shop and the worker there had the tornado V3 and we raced to see who finished first (I did with my awful GAN 11 M) but he let me try his cube and coming from a GAN 11 M it felt absolutely AMAZING so I will be buying one lol

Ngl I just got the flagship which has better corner cutting, added the Yoo Lube setup and this thing does beyond 45 with ease, only complaint is no uv coating or auto alignment but the ball core with a good lube setup still provides some so best cube overall and will cost maybe $40-$45 in total with the cube and lubes

They should have just added a adjustable repelling magnets on the tv4 rather than those useless triple magnet
