I have a cast iron shower pan. I don't think it will leak or crack for a very long time.

Your supposed to have your durock in before doing the shower floor. And you need a preslope for your pan then pan it then drypack it with 3 to1 sand and portland cement. Alot easier to slope than concrete.

Normally each section of drain including the toilet, sink, and shower needs its own vent to the roof or using Vent Air Admittance Valve.

Can I ask you did you get permits for this job? It's not a dig, but some of the plumbing doesn't seem vented properly. As a homeowner I would need the township or City to sign off on this Plumbing before you close it up because the last thing I would want is sewer smells or blockage after I paid all that money

lol... i came to this video BECAUSE the steel tub cracked and rusted. It might be lighter and cheaper but definetly not durable. But thank you for the advice and posting!

Lol you don't recommend cast-iron tubs because they're heavy but they will last a lifetime they keep the heat of the water much warmer much longer

If you ever need to change this out , theses screws are in the wrong direction 2x4 mounts toward trap door …needs to be directed …for removal years later or even a lemon mount plumbing In my opinion

my current whirlpool's subfloor has signs of rot. I'll be installing a new whirlpool tub and tearing out existing subfloor around tub. Is only plywood needed for subfloor or could I use cement board over the plywood for better support/water resistance?

Awesome! Thank you for making this video!! It's exactly what I'm working on right now!!! Only difference is that I'm splitting it in the basement and bringing a hot and cold up thru for each sink in the 6" wall... I will be using the 3" x 1/2" chrome nipples to attach the shut offs just like you did... Just wondering how deep the face of the drop ears should be? Flush with the studs? Or out a 1/2" more to be flush with the drywall? I'm trying to figure out exactly where to attach the supports for the drop ears... Thanks again! You guys rock!!!

Thank You for making this video! You guys rock!! Are the female drop ears flush with the studs or with the drywall? Or something else? Just wondering how deep to put them... Thanks

I hope that wasn't a load bearing wall that you cut 85% to 90% of the stud out of for that sink drain plumbing plate part . 6:41 😆

I saw an improper tee fitting installed on it's side, you should check your local code so you know what and what not to do in plumbing.

I often see a lot of improper plumbing installed on this channel, in this video I saw an S trap, a san tee on it's side, a union trap underground, and I saw a pressure 90 which looks like it was going to be used on a drain line.

Nice ! Just few things: Sink is tying to shower drain with San-T in horizontal position. That is a violation of Code. Moreover, toilet should ALWAYS have 2" vent - whether it is required by your Code or not. That Sewer ejector also has to have its own, dedicated, 2" vent going all the way to the roof. Thank you !

Why are you using a 3 x 2 sanitary tee laying on it's side at the junction of your shower and your vanity sink? You should be using a 3 x 2 wye and 1/8th turn fitting or s Rd combo The turn from the vanity into the 3 x 2 wye is not gradual enough and will eventually clog, not to mention, not code compliant.
