Those rounds out of both guns sound like they are still supersonic. I would be very interested to see the chronograph data. I think you will find it significantly quieter to shoot subsonic ammo.

The reason the MPX isnt gassy is because its a short stroke gas piston and you are using a silencer that is massively overbored. The MP5 at the end of the day is still a blowback action, so the action getting fouled (faster than a gas gun) is definitely common.
@DrTac2 күн бұрын
Completely agree…the feel of the roller delayed system is amazing, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a blowback action.
@GldenRetriever2 күн бұрын
Regards to integrally suppressed and SD definitions, there is none. The HKMP5SD's SD in German means sound suppressor. Nothing about it being ported or welded. Companies use SD or integral as a marketing term as the consumers assume it will be the quietest option. As for pinned silencers, they aren't integral to the operation, but they are integral to the barrel as far as the ATF is concerned. But in all, yeah, SD and Integrals mostly mean a ported barrel (either infront of the chamber or infront of the gas block) and was designed for a silencer. fun facts. the APC9SDs can be fired without a silencer, even though the barrel is ported as they have a collar that can cover the ports. Secondly, the HK53SD-300s (MP5SD in 300blk) aren't ported as they simply can't reliably cycle with ports.

When I first saw the gun and tried it i had some doubts about all the claims. Shot like a dream but with no real support from the builder i will stick with 300blk MCX with a K can, extended handguard for that tuck'ed look. Shame as small businesses live and die by reputation. I would also like to see how these handle self defense ammo and how that affects expansion as "it makes everything subsonic" might be robbing too much speed.. can't wait for the follow up
@DrTac2 күн бұрын
@@Fullmetal_Sensei I too love my 300 blackouts, but damn ammo gets pricey. The ability to shoot regular 115gr and 124gr 9mm subsonically is ridiculously attractive. It is a shame that this builder turned out to be so unresponsive…but there appear to be quite a few others out there…bottom line, I’m afraid Ron’s gun is still gonna cost me…just not with Ronin Arms.

Aaron Cowan from Sage Dynamics is also not really a fan of Ronin Arms. It use to be called D3LLC and at that time Aaron did a review on a MPX SD conversion and he experienced what you experienced, non-existent customer service. All that said, there are other builders that I would recommend and not so well known in the gun space. KC Arms out of Dallas Texas is one that is a experienced gunsmith specializing in HK type weapons. I've had work done on an SD gun that needed the barrel to be changed and his service was nothing short of excellent.

My biggest complaint by far with the shadow 2 compact is the safety. I find it difficult to use easily without breaking my grip and the detent is kinda mushy. I would prefer a larger safety on it and a better detent for that kind of money
@DrTac8 күн бұрын
I find the safety on the Shadow 2 Compact to be completely irrelevant....as far as I'm concerned, that safety cannot be small enough. I have no intentions of ever using it. The CZ Shadow 2 Compact is designed to be carried in it's double action configuration and convert into single action once the party has started. That is not to say that it cannot be carried cocked and locked...it's just not what it was designed for. If you are someone who prefers cocked and locked, there are many guns out there that are far better suited to that style of carry. The only reason the safety exists on the Shadow 2 Compact is just in case someone does want to carry cocked and locked or they have fired and, in a stressful situation, are not comfortable manually decocking it.

If lem trigger is similar to single action trigger isn’t that pretty light for no thumb safety
@DrTac16 күн бұрын
So, the comparison is that of the follow up shots of the LEM trigger, NOT the first pull. Although the 1st pull is light, it is long and really needs to be intentional (hence the safety factor). If after the 1st shot you ride the reset, it is virtually the same as the follow-up shots of the DA/SA models. I hope that makes sense,

It’s really a shame, because the physics works and their design is brilliant…but at the end of the day, something’s gonna go wrong and you’re gonna need a company that stands behind their product…especially a sophisticated complicated design like the Rhino, which does not lend itself well to the typical DIY gun owner. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again,”Just because you charge high fees like a top tier company, doesn’t make you a top tier company.”

I have green lasers on all of my home defense long guns. The lasers on these guns are fantastic because they're sturdy and very bright. I dont mind that they're not instant on because when I'm grabing a rifle its not as quick a situation as grabbing a handgun from a holster or under the table next to my recliner in the famiy room. The problem with pistol lasers is that they're ticky tacky plastic. At least the laser produced by the company that owns the patent on the best instant on grip approach, Armalaser, is a tickt tacky piece of garbage. Zeroing, I agree with the many people who use "Consistent Offset zeroingfor a laser. Using that technique it doesn't matter if the laser is above, below or beside the barrel. After a disastrous attempt to get an out of the box defective laser replaced by Armalser Im looking for a bettwr provider but Im spoiled by having been exposed to an instant on laser.
